I thought about drawing it ages ago, but it seemed kind of boring at the time, so I just kept putting it off... and putting it off... and putting it off. And then, well—look at that! ​Surprise! Nobody saw it coming, but I’m working on a comic! These are just rough drafts for now, but I really wanted to share them anyway 🤌🤌

​As you might have guessed, the story follows a girl navigating a teenage crisis while stuck in a permanent state of "postpartum depression" (the joke being she’s the one who was born).

​I think many of you might find her headspace—and the upcoming "trips" and flashbacks I have planned—all too familiar. I hope this comic can help someone out there. I’m not sure how exactly, but for now, it’s helping me process my own emotions, haha.

​I’m translating this from my native language using Gemini, so if any phrases feel a bit "off" or clunky, please let me know! I’d love to hear your suggestions. I’ll be fine-tuning the text for the final render.

This is a 3-hour re-sketch/"half-assed" piece. Maybe I’ll do a redraw in 50 years, but for now, this is what we’ve got, heh

A quick plot summary:

A certain author says, "No one’s gonna read this sugary bullshit!" and tosses out a character concept. That’s how the characters end up in the world of rejected ideas - The Scraphead

Lux - cookie-cutter "perfect," "pure" hero - teams up with his story’s villain, Grim. Together, they start looking for a way out into a new story because The Scrapheap is absolutely reeking of rot and despair. Staying there means dying inside and slowly crumbling into dust. They aren't exactly fans of that kind of finale

They eventually meet another character from their story - the "original" Lux, a girl who was supposed to get revenge on Grim for everything good (and not so good) he'd done

Accompanied by the "magical girl" Lumin, the four of them become a makeshift semi-family that might just fall apart under the weight of someone else's scripts

1. For artists: It’s the final stage of work when the drawing gets color, light, and volume. You know, all that shit

2. For the comic’s context: It’s an industrial term for processing (animal waste/byproducts) into a finished product. A rendering plant is a disposal/recycling facility
