Picture the LEAST attractive person with breasts you personally can imagine. If your knee-jerk reflex is, "I no longer support that person's right to be topless", that's a Gratification motive paired with a Disgust motive.
The key is to move AWAY from Self-Gratification and Disgust and TOWARDS "Equality".
Self-gratification is something we encourage in our view of women so strongly that it almost becomes invisible- to the point of detriment to BOTH sides, which is what bedrock stone-bottom Feminism exists to address.
Your grandmother should be just as commonplace being topless at the pool as your grandpa. Your sister should be able to take her shirt off when it's scorching out and still be as safe and blasĂŠ as your brother. Seeing a mom whip out a tit on the bus to feed her baby should be as commonplace as a milk bottle.
The foundational idea is, "the primary purpose of a woman's body is for women to live, not for others to pick apart for approval".

Itâs funny, I was just thinking: what happens when all of the geeks we have today die and their grandchildren inherit hundreds of funko pops of characters they donât recognise or care about? Like, I canât imagine them becoming antiques; thereâs too many of them.

Ah but that undermines their profit motive, you see. Same reason some grocers toss out perfectly good food on its expiration date into locked dumpsters. Or why when I worked at Borders bookstore back in the late 2000s I had to shred the covers off of the unpurchased magazines once the new monthâs supply came, and toss the magazine bodies into a recycling bin and mail the covers back to the magazine, manufactures to prove that we didnât just give them away. Because heaven forbid we took them or gave them away.
Please donât take this as a post implying this is a Funko Pop specific thing. I highlighted capitalismâs role here because ALL KINDS of companies are doing this to create false scarcity or to keep their productsâ âvalueâ artificially high or whatever. This is just the most recent verifiable case Iâm aware of.
As I said on another thread: this is not a bug this is a feature of capitalism. Itâs bullshit.

I love the âcaptainâs logâ mechanism in Star Trek as a method for time skips and exposition.
I am, however, devastated that we never got an episode where any captainâs voiceover is strained and slow. very precise about the events theyâre describing. While the screen itself is showing the most batshit insane events and making it clear that the captain is trying VERY HARD to keep everyone involved out of a court martial.
Iâm reading The Deviants War: The Homosexual vs The United States of America and the entire point of gay pride as a concept comes from police raids on bars, clubs, public restrooms, etc where gays were humiliated and outed in the newspapers (sometimes with their addresses!) and had careers ruined and lives upended by being associated with perversion and vice squads and all that and they responded by going âno Iâm proudâ and took that pride to the streets in defiance of the huge mechanism of shame that existed to oppress the gay community into obscurity and so the fact that people are now trying to apply conservative dogma to pride parades to make them âsafe for childrenâ or in other words âsafe for people with oppressive conservative valuesâ is simply insane
To phrase this more clearly: âpublic indecencyâ laws were the primary tool for brutally enforcing gender and sexual conformity, so applying a âpublic indecencyâ lens to pride parades of all things is a slap in the face of everyone who ever suffered under gender & sexual oppression and took their anger (and yes their pride!) to the streets. If it makes you uneasy or uncomfortable maybe youâre not on the side you think you are!
apropos of nothing please check out this boar cutting board (cutting boar) that my grandfather made for his mom back in the 1920s (he would have been around 8 years old). it's one of my favorite things in the world and i thought you might get a kick out of it!

So every year, my aquarium does a captive lobster hatchery project (hence all the loblings). The reason weâre doing it is because in the wild, loblings only have a 1 in 25,000 chance of surviving their larval phase. Theyâre plankton as babies and everything eats them. Additionally, as the Gulf of Maine warms, they are having even lower survival rates because the blooms of copepods they feed on as babies are happening earlier in the year, and theyâre missing it.
Obviously, the goal of this experiment is to grow the lobsters until theyâre big enough to settle to the seabed and then release them, because they have a much higher likelihood of surviving to adulthood when theyâre able to hide. Ideally, captive lobster hatcheries can boost the wild population and keep things stable, so we donât have a major crash in a decade or two.
The first year we tried this was pretty bad. We had a lot of eggs, but very few babies. It turned out that the CO2 levels in the building spiked as more guests visited throughout the summer, and that settled into the water and threw off the pH and caused a chemical reaction that prevented a lot of the eggs from hatching. I think we ended up releasing three baby lobsters (which is still better than their wild survival rate but not great).
The second year was a little better. We added a de-gasser to the aquarium and got a ton of larval lobsters, but right as they were settling to the bottom we had a disease outbreak that killed most of them. We ended up releasing four babies at the end of the season.
But this year? Oh boy. We have so many lobsters that we had to release the first round early (usually we wait till September or October so guests can see them). We just released a total of FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE baby lobsters, and we still have over a hundred who havenât settled to the bottom yet. I genuinely donât even have words to explain how cool this is. OVER FIVE HUNDRED. We just added hundreds of lobsters to the wild population that wouldnât have been there otherwise.
