He might come off harsh with his words, but he genuinely is worried for you sometimes. What if you get hurt because you can't see the obvious? It could've been completely avoided! He'll pull you from the collar to stop you from going elsewhere or take your phone to make the right decision with you, basically taking the wheel in his hands which is something he doesn't do.
Sometimes he makes Ruggie and Jack look after you when he's too lazy busy to do so, because hey, he still cares. <3
He honestly doesn't care much that you're smart. To him, it just means you're like Azul.
Floyd thinks it's hilarious how you're on top of your class, smart in all the subjects but when you're out of class, you just lose all that brain juice and ask him questions like:
"Floyd, I left this yogurt drink out on my counterforce five weeks and just realised I forgot to drink it. You think I should? I dunno why Azul san keeps saying I shouldn't."
Floyd will let you do stupid things so long as you'll instantly regret it later (like spitting the drink out right after because it was super gross).
He just laughs about it and tell you it's obviously NOT a good idea to do that and would tease you incessantly about it for the next two weeks.
However, a truly dumb and dangerous idea would make him straighten up and lock the frick in, because no way would he risk your safety like that.
Sure, maybe for other people, but not you.
He'll physically lift you up and drag you to the Monster Lounge.

Malleus isn't exactly always worrying about you frantically but he does get gradually more concern each time you tell him about a very obviously bad idea that you think is safe or fun or whatever.
He might gently steer you away from the subject and suggests he helps, or simply, just don't drink the five week expired yogurt drink, please-
He obviously wants to make sure you're safe because he cares about you a lot and doesn't want to see you hurt. <3
