Went to the store today and a single serving of raw pasta was 12 dollars, so today I'm gonna be outlining and explaining the ethics of theft.
(This is not condoning theft, this is all hypothetical and in theory wink nudge whatever)
Firstly, this goes primarily for shoplifting. While right and wrong and good and bad is a completely subjective idea, if the store/company you're purchasing from:
– is a massive, multi-million dollar corporation (ex. Giant, Publix, Cvs)
– actively funds genocides, I.C.E. deportation, etc. (ex. Stores: Target, Home Depot / Companies: Nestle, Sabra, Strauss, Coca Cola)
– was in the fucking Epstein files (ex. Walmart, Macy's, Bath & Bodyworks, Justice)
It's probably cool and fine to steal their shit. For other localized or unlisted companies, do your own research and use your better judgement.
Now, if the store you're purchasing from:
– is a small business (ex. Family or locally run businesses)
– is a vendor (ex. Street vendors, festival vendors)
Keep your sticky fingers in your pockets for these ones.
DO NOT STEAL FROM SMALL BUSINESS !!
These businesses are small scale personal projects that support the community around them and have real work put into them without slave labor or millions of dollars to funnel into genocides. LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!
In a time like this in the world, there's not many people who aren't having a rough time financially, and if you haven't figured it out yet, the billions upon billions of dollars at the top of our society are not going to trickle down. Food is a necessity, and if you can't afford it, you have the right to take it for yourself. Be careful and be responsible, and keep your optimism.
