mochi ice cream + green tea

ok so first the foods (i put the actual in-book recipes at the very bottom of the post):

Willowgrape Cocktail

1 bottle stella rosa peach

1 cinnamon stick (make sure it's a stick!)

2 lemons

1 orange

1 apple

I was also going to add a few grapefruit slices (olrugio mentions a "bitter" "lemon"- witch hat lemons seem to encompass all citrus fruits) but we were worried it might affect our friend's heart medication. I think it would have been good though!

I did this recipe once before with 4 lemons (recipe calls for 7 lmfao) and it tasted the same pretty much. when the drink was gone we pulled the fruits out & put it into our diet cokes, which was yummy. i actually liked it better than the cocktail but i'm #dokepilled

Glowrose Tart Bouquet

• 4 apples (2 pink cripps 2 cosmic crisp)

• dufour puff pastry

• sugar, powdered sugar, water

i did this mostly by the book, but i used puff pastry instead of making the dough myself.

this one was very time consuming because I kept burning the syrup 😑 my first apples were too tiny and only made 2 roses, so we had to do an HEB run to get more midway through.

i ended up making double the syrup- sort of. instead of waiting for it to become a syrup, i kinda just tossed all of the apple slices into the sugar mixture on low heat so they would soften faster. worked out pretty okay, but made rolling them up a lot harder. Also, the cosmic crisps were so juicy, I think it added more liquid. By the end I was basically just slapping apple juice on there

it made 8 servings but if I had another apple it could have been 10. the thinner slices of puff pastry cooked much better than the wider ones

Parasol Jelly and Mountain Apple Sliders

1 baguette

4 strips of imitation crab (recipe calls for 4 crab legs but that was gonna be $25 and i'm cheap)

3 potatoes

1/2 cup of creme fraiche (i think sour cream or greek yogurt would have tasted the same)

this shit was so easy look at this

1. Bake 3 potatoes at 400 for 60 mins (poke holes in them so they dont explode. I forgot to do that. lol)

2. Scoop potato into bowl

3. Stir in half cup of creme fraiche

4. Chop up imitation crab and throw it in

5. Scoop onto baguettes with a spoon

6. Throw pepper on it. Done

I wish I had extra time to figure out what "mountain apple cultured cream" was, and kind of wish I had used actual crab. The way I did it, it was really just mashed potatoes on a baguette (which was yummy but a little mid). But, I think it literally only took me like 15 minutes of actual work, so to me it was the best thing ever

for snacks we had:

• bugles (conical, witch hat shaped snacks!)

• popcorn (because it's a watch party)

they were cute :) i was gonna make them, but by the time I added up the craft supplies and my time I was like... if im gonna spend money I might as well get these

my roommate found a tutorial on making little brushbuddies with pompoms and googly eyes! I think everyone would have been just as happy if we did that not gonna lie

drawing spells

I bought these dip pens off of aliexpress. These were reallyyyyy fun to play with

• 2x $5 Glass Pens (these were my favorite)

• 1x $5 Ink Well

• 2x $5 Dip Fountain Pens

I also bought 2 other fountain pens which were not good so I wont list them lol.

Witch Hats

We used old scrap joanne's fabric & trim, craft foam, and hot glue to make conical hats! We sorta followed princess hat/hennin tutorials but we mostly winged it. This was all over the place but it was fun.

But, if my friends weren't so crafty, I think my lack of planning would have made it more frustrating than fun. In hindsight, I wish I had made patterns for cutting the cones out of foam, or even pre-cut the foam

Anyway it was fun!! My roommates were so awesome. My head was all over the place and they took what I bought and set it all up for me without even asking. They also helped clean. I was like wow I don't deserve these people

AND ALSO.... MY FRIEND MADE T-SHIRTS OF THE JERMA GIF. I HAVE THE SHIRT NOW ‼️‼️

the finale was a bit disappointing because I was really trusting them to wrap the season up in a satisfying way. but it was still cool :)

RIP witch hat mondays and nakamura wednesdays. i was genuinely devastated by nakamura ending like it was kind of embarassing. one must imagine nakamura and hirose happy
