My Monster Garden - Looking for Co-writer!
Hey all! As some of you may know, Iām currently solo developing "My Monster Garden" - a cozy Visual Novel about growing and bonding with monster-plant guys. A demo is already out on Itch!Ā
The full game is coming along nicely, the coding is done for the most part (I expect some bug fixes), the art is also nearly done. But the writing...
As much as I love working on this,Ā writing the longer relationship/bonding scenes currently stalls me. So I decided to try find a co-writer who loves monster men as much as I do! Perhaps someone can help me tackle the 'meatier' dialogue scenes for the upcoming plants. (And if we vibe well, also for other projects in future?)
What this looks like:
Age Limit:Ā Applicants must be 24+ (ideally closer to my age, 30s).Ā This game features mature content/themes and I am looking for a creative peer to collaborate closely with. Thank you for understanding!Ā Ā
Payment: This is a paid, milestone-by-milestone gig.Ā I intend to pay a flat fee per plant for around 3.5kā4.5k words.
Creative Direction: The plants designs and personalities are predefined by me, but you would have some freedoms in deciding how their scenes progress. I will ask for edits/edit them myself if something doesn't quite fit the character - please make sure you are okay with this.
Pacing: You must be able to complete writing in a timely manner, within a month ideally for one milestone/plant. I do want to try get the full game out sooner rather than later.
Most importantly, I'd love to find someone I can vibe, chat, and plot about monster guys with!

This is Doris Pollas, the cofounder of the organisation now known as lgbt+ Denmark which by being founded in 1948 is one of the oldest ongoing queer organisation in the world.
Doris lived in a farm in Jutland as a child. She was always butch and figured out she was a lesbian in her teens. When she heard about a club in copenhagen where boys kissed boys and girls kissed girls she went just some months after and it was through that club she started a paper connecting queer people all up to seventies and co founded lgbt+ Denmark.
She is now 97 years old and wishes for every queer person to have an as loving and accepting family as she did.
I donāt see a lot of older gays from my country, so learning about Doris, a masc lesbian, was really nice.

Iām reading a book on biofeedback trainings right now and they talk about this. The words ātryā or āneedā add pressure to stuff. Sometimes switching from āI need to calm downā or āIām trying to slow my breathingā to āIām allowing myself to calm down a little more with each exhaleā or āIām giving myself permission to slow my breathingā can be more helpful. Thereās a difference between ātry to relax the muscleā and āallow the muscle to softenā that is significant enough that for some people it can totally change the outcome of a relaxation exercise.
For other tips and tricks, instead of asking āwhyā you canāt change a thought/feeling (why being an offensive question, meaning it forces you to respond defensively - in this case defending the emotion you donāt like) you can ask āis there any leeway or wiggle room with this feeling/thought/belief for something else?ā Oftentimes we know multiple things at once, and by allowing for a small amount of ambiguity we can start to accept the situation more fully.
