Not So New Simblr!!

Hi!  I’m Morrigan (Morri for short), and I’m restarting my simblr.  I used to be @kit-cat-sims , and though that blog is still up, and will remain up, I felt it was time for a change.  kit-cat-sims was a sideblog, which was very inconvenient for a simblr.  Since I never used my main, I rebooted it to make it a simblr.  

Here’s a little about me and my plans for the blog: I use she/her pronouns. I post TS4 content. I mostly post edits, but someday I’d like to post a story too.  I make a shit-ton of sims that I never do anything with, so maybe I’ll post some CAS pics or something.

Don’t you know these are our golden days?

hi everyone!! this is squirt. he is three years old and he’s a very beloved emotional support animal. since he came into our lives, he has been a huge help with my fiancee’s depression and PTSD. he’s the sweetest cat i’ve ever met.

he is also very sick. over this past weekend, we noticed that his breathing was very labored and that he was lethargic; he wasn’t eating or playing with our other cat. when the breathing difficulty persisted, we decided to take him to the vet.

after getting him x-rayed, we were told that squirt has a “diffuse mixed pulmonary pattern…characterized by multiple coalescing rounded soft-tissue opaque nodules with a concurrent bronchial and unstructured interstitial pattern”. basically, there’s something in his lungs that’s making it hard for him to breathe.

the vet believes he has either fungal pneumonia, toxoplasmosa, mycoplasma, or immune mediated pulmonary disease. they would like to hospitalize him and run the proper tests to get him diagnosed (and eventually treated). unfortunately, we cannot afford the cost of the tests. we were able to get him some medication that is going to keep him comfortable, but these meds will not make him better.

here is the current cost estimate for his care we were given by our vet (5/17/2021):

we were told by the vet that he has a chance at a long life if we can pull the money together to get him treated. he has brought so much comfort into my fiancee’s life and made them so happy. if we cannot pay to take care of his medical needs, we will need to put him down.

and we got a repeat x-ray done. his lungs seem to have improved just a little bit– not much, but a bit, which is still good news!!

he was given cerenia (anti-nausea medication) and buprenorphine (for pain management) as well. the vet thinks the nausea could either be from his medication making him sick, or his teeth are bothering him (a side effect of calicivirus). we were given both of these medications for him to take at home, too.

after seeing squirt’s scans, the vet told us that we urgently needed to make an appointment to get his bronchoalveolar lavage (which is what we are fundraising for). the next available appointment would have been in august (which would have been too late), but an appointment opened up for tomorrow, 5/27/2021. we really didn’t want to wait until august to get him diagnosed. because we don’t have all of the money, they gave us the option of paying $2,000 as a down payment, which we took.
