Telll me about The Night Circus? I just got it and am curious about it. No spoilers, what about it worked for you?

i loved it so much! def my top book of the year and immediately took a spot in my all time faves as well! it's about these two magicians - a guy and a girl - who have been pitted against each other in a magical duel (?) of sorts. the duel is older than they are and they're both separately brought up and trained in different schools of magic... all they know is to prepare, prepare and prepare for this duel. oh and it all happens in this "night circus" - basically a circus that only appears at night. this is all free of major spoilers btw. what i really loved was the prose... it was so simple yet so beautiful. it's very much a vibes based book... spends a lot of time describing the environment and what's happening and tbh the plot is quite minimal. i just really loved the writing and the way it brought to life so much of the fantastical elements on the page. kinda reminded me of how i used to feel when i read the harry potter or percy jackson series. just the whimsical quality of it all made me quite nostalgic. i think vibe > plot books can be a hit or a miss but for me this was a huge hit. i hope you like this book as much as i did, anon! do let me know how you feel abt it when you start reading.
