Also Xaden: picks Violet flowers so she doesn’t wake up feeling alone, holds her hand at any given opportunity, ties her shoelaces for her, checks in on her whenever he sees her looking sad or in pain, spends hours making a saddle so she can fly comfortably, and writes her letters so she can get to know him

Hear me out: Up to what we see of Tosh and Owen's relationship, I don't think I necessarily ship them at all. Owen clearly doesn't care for Tosh in the way that she cares for him. At least not at that point in time...

Near the very end of their story we see that change, ever so slightly. You watch it and you begin to wonder where they might go in future. They would not make a good couple now but they could in the future.

That's what makes them so devastating. They have no future together. The excitement of what they could be and where they could go. Their story hadn't begun.
