Challenge to authors. Could you get more tolerant with the idea of your protagonist characters being disabled
Maybe I am a little tired of every injury being a small problem that’s easily overcome. Maybe I’m tired of every concussion being for the purpose of a small jump in time and to move the protagonist easily and leave them temporarily incapacitated. Maybe I’m exhausted of characters joking about bullet wounds like it’s as mild as a scrape on the knee, and not something that is incredibly deadly and can leave someone permanently disabled.
Why is it that the unbelievably dangerous scenario always ends with the characters scratched up, but relatively alright? Every time? Every single time? Why is it that the worst thing that might happen to a protagonist is scarring (but in a tragic and badass sexy way, and nothing that isn’t appealing), and maaaaybe some PTSD.
“It’s for storytelling purposes,” yeah okay and maybe I’m absolutely exhausted of it being for storytelling purposes, for the drama, for whatever. Think for me on why consequences are not allowed to exist in your story. Why is it that the protagonist always manages to heal from devastating wounds perfectly in record time? Why are they just okay after having all the bones in their fingers broken? Why do you pride yourself on your realism, but get cold feet when a character has a severe concussion for the thousandth time?
Maybe I would be more accepting if this wasn’t the case for almost every single story. But my patience is being worn down.
Okay, this made me pause and literally write out every letter that 'fell' in order (‘oomngouuhhrsrtutpntnue’), then make sure they were all contained in 'turntomushuponthergroun'.
They are, and it's very satisfying.

I never really considered that a rabbit would care for a scarab one way or the other. Didn't think a rabbit could formulate an opinion on the scarab at all
She looks way more aware of the scarab than I thought she could be tbqh
it really is kind of interesting how attached people are to the idea of the improvised line and the genuine reaction in film. nearly every single famous moment or line has some sort of claim floating around that it wasn't in the script and was either made up on the spot by an actor or was sprung as a surprise on the actors to get their 'real' reaction. you know, sometimes people do come up with good lines in advance and write them down, and sometimes people can pretend to be have a convincing emotional response on screen

haven't played that roblox brainrot stealer game that has a billion visits or whatever but I Have played the vocaloid copy and I think there being a shield around your house is a suboptimal choice. the stealing should be more frequent and also easier. the kids crave anarchy. we used to be a society
im too used to getting evaporated every 5 seconds in 2 player wizard tycoon by a kid with a fire staff and a rainbow magic carpet and getting killed by swords in clone tycoon and blowing shit up in brickbattle the kids YEARN for roblox crime
i may have been lowballing the visit quantity of the brainrot stealer game
i may have been lowballing th
you gotta understand im the oldest man ever when I hear that a roblox game is popular my thought is "has anywhere from a few ten or hundred million to maybe a billion total visits" or like "has some kinda fandom" not that its legally owned by fucking fortnite

The Tattoo Post™️ is so revealing of the current state of trans discourse online. Really it’s quite a fascinating case study. Right from the jump we have the weirdly paternalistic framing that trans men should run tattoo ideas by their friends, insinuating that trans men innately have poor judgment. By singling out trans men as a demographic rather than just advising people get feedback on their tattoo ideas or stating that they think the tattoo in question is bad, OP implies that it is trans men specifically and no other demographic that deserve to be held to this level of scrutiny. And even if you stripped the weird gender wars bullshit away from the whole thing, there remains the fact that putting a stranger on blast over an innocuous tattoo is deeply weird and uhhh bullying? Just straight up middle school bully behavior? What the hell is wrong with you?
Anyway here are my favorite notes
Exhibit A: The very feminist take that people socially/medically/legally classed as female aren’t oppressed on the basis of being socially/medically/legally classed as female.
Exhibit B: Seeing a non-sexual image of a trans man and immediately thinking about him bottoming. Because sexually objectifying random people for no reason is, again, very feminist. 🙄
Exhibi— okay I don’t have anything to say, I’m just enamored by this one. What does it even mean. What if a cis guy was a trans guy. What if the world was made of pudding. What if words meant nothing.
somewhat better and healthier alternative to the 'looks 8 but is actually a hundred years old' thing ive been thinking about lately is 'Looks 8 but is actually middle aged'. looks like a little guy but both is and acts like theyre in their 40s
