The rules are similar to last year, though I've added one:

Your work must feature an alternate universe (AU). Yes, canon divergence counts as an AU for the purposes of this fest.

Do not use generative AI.

It's simply too hot to be more restrictive than that.

Fill as many or as few prompts as you like, in whichever order you like.

Interpret the prompts how you like.

Ship who you like, or ship no one at all.

Cross over with another fandom if you like, as long as at least one SPN character or actor is the main focus of your work. (Yes, SPN RPF is welcome here too!)

Make it as spicy as you like. Just, y'know, keep in mind Tumblr's rules, and tag accordingly if you post on AO3.

Post where you like, any time between now and the end of August. (But let's be real, if you tag me in September, I'm still gonna reblog you. Like I said, rules are for cooler weather!)

The Way to a Man’s Heart is Through Chlamydia by @violue: An absolute riot. STDs have never been so funny.

 Romancing the Exit Sign by @an-android-in-a-tutu: So what if someone turned Dean’s canon suicidal tendencies and turned them into a gorgeous horror story about wanting to be consumed and choosing life every single day? What then? This one definitely falls into the “changed my perspective on things” category.

A. fragilis by @eachainn: Another perspective-changer. If you thought you could not get deeply, incredibly emotionally invested in dinosaur Destiel, try this.

Muscle Memory by komodobits: Cas is Drew Barrymore’s character from 50 First Dates, meaning he can’t retain long-term memories. Dean makes him fall in love again every single day. You will be in tears the entire time.

Qualia by @imogenbynight: Every imogenbynight fic is a winner tbh, and Circadia for example is another favorite, but this one moved me so deeply and really changed my perspective on what love can be. Cas is an AI with no body. Dean loves him anyway.

Game of Chance With Angel Eyes by @doctorprofessorsong and @you-cant-spell-subtext-without: These are two of the funniest people in fandom and that is all I have to say about that.

spirit of the west by teen-dean: 90s horse girl Dean comes of age and takes control of his life and sexuality. You will not be able to put this one down. 

Heroes for Ghosts by pantheon_of_discord: Season 12 canon divergence where Cas hears Dean’s prayers while he’s imprisoned in the government facility. Absolutely devastating and beautifully cathartic in the end.

Those Who Get in the Way of Peace by ladyofthelake17: Based on Fleabag, but I found it absolutely hilarious and poignant without having watched the show.

a life in your shape by averysoftno: Epic AU where Cas trains Dean to be an air traffic controller. Dean cares for his terminally ill, abusive father while he falls for Cas, and it’s heavy, but it’s so, so good. 

between the essence/and the descent by tothewillofthepeople: Cas can only return from the Empty on Thursdays. It’s just as gorgeous and devastating as you think that concept will be. 

Looking To The Sky by @farenmaddox : Cas gets his life together while caring for Dean after a horrible accident caused by Cas’ brother. Absolutely devastating and also healing scenes that I’ll remember forever.
