My second patch from @moldspace came today!! I love it so much, it looks perfect with this bag and also manages to perfectly match the lining in the bag!

I gotta say I think little embroidered patches are kind of slept on in comparison to stickers and enamel pins. I think in a lot of ways they’re more harmonious with other textiles, and they’re much less likely to get lost than a pin while still being more movable than a used sticker— yeah you have to unpick your stitches but if you’re careful this won’t damage the patch. Pins and stickers are both nice of course but I wish more people would make patches too. Among other things it’s very fun to get a mini craft project in the mail.

Also if you want to get into DIY, visible mending, or any kind of hand sewing I think adding some embroidered patches to a jacket or bag is a good place to start.

Another thing to note— I wore my big purse out on Saturday to a rally/protest and I got completely drenched but the embroidered patch came through just fine! I really wasn’t worried about it but sometimes when manufacturers are making a textile that isn’t really meant to be clothes they start taking short cuts with things like dye fixatives so it’s nice to know this thing can get completely soaked and be fine.

This cute dragon patch is from @moldspace and I'm fucking obsessed with it. It's so adorable. It also looks really good with the rainbow bag strap, it really ties things together. I had hoped the purple in the strap would tie it to the bag, but because I sewed the dragon patch on it manages to make the whole rainbow strap very harmonious.

I had meant to buy a the little bat patch and the dragon patch, and sew the bat patch to the purse but I accidentally got two dragon patches. The dragon patch was just because I fucking love green and pink and dragons but the plan was to save it for some other project. I didn't really imagine I would want these colors with the purple, but actually I like it?
