candid moments and silent observations
anyway i hate how fandom has landed on foreman as "he follows rules and is very cautious and never reckless" like this man hasn't been insane since episode one, where he decided to make himself a snack while breaking into the patient's home.
like! foreman does fight against his more impulsive side but come onnnnn. he steals bone marrow (family). he gets fired for reckless treatment against orders (97 seconds). he covers up murder (the tyrant). he lies to a patient's hook up to get him to admit to drug use (it's a wonderful lie); he lies to patients for information (failure to communicate). he switches 13's meds, and ropes the romani kid into taking illegal meds against his parent's wishes (needle in a haystack); he pretends his patient is another woman to get her an MRI (histories); he puts his mentor's patient on different meds because house suggested it (dnr), and laughs off house's lying/distrust when a patient is mad about it (poison).
foreman's recklessness is what gets his patient killed in house training, and his cautiousness afterward is out of character enough everyone mentions it; the same goes for his cautiousness in forever: it's out of character. foreman's recklessness and willingness to break the rules is what causes his entire crisis in s3 that leads to his resignation, and not for nothing does the patient in mirror mirror copy foreman by saying "yeah, i love this, i love the rush of this job."
foreman is reckless! he is a rule breaker! he struggles against this; it is not necessarily who or what he wants to be. he cares about people; he wishes he cared a bit more about his patients (not that he doesn't, but: he isn't the touchy-feely guy he pretends he is in forever, either). he doesn't like the idea of lying or doubting people or manipulating them as the first resort, out of cynicism or hatred of humanity, Ă la house: he wants to follow ethical and moral guidelines. and foreman does learn to strike a balance, i think: he stops being as reactive by s4/5, but... he's still switching out those meds and covering up murders. he hasn't changed that much.
foreman has never been a boring rule-follower. he's never liked or gotten along with authority (he alone of the og3 hated vogler and tritter from the start). he's always been the most willing of the og3 to do what he thinks is right and argue and ignore what he believes isn't. foreman has never, ever been cautious and staid and obedient: he's much too much like house for that.
this is the worst fucking advice anyone has given
i forgot how dearly i missed when they actually bothered to play with lighting for castiel. they used to give him a FLICKERING halo LIGHT above his HEAD. DON'T FORGET YOUR ROOTS

okay I truly say this with SO much love in my heart but: watching supernatural really is like that post thatâs like âough the first 500 bites of dirt were not so good. maybe the next one...â
husbands!!!!
he always wondered
castiel died for your gay hockey guys right to suck and fuck on screen so remember that .
And the thing is end of the day every day I do have to hand it. To destiel
destiel is the polar opposite of one of the most powerful institutions on the planet. destiel had envelopes and feathers and a dream. The cwia kept trying to politically assassinate her but she kept surviving because she was so sincere. Donât piss me off

i think what really pisses me off about deleting the cas sewing scene is that i think of cas as a very hands forward person. remember this post about cas looking at his hands as a grounding technique? you know how cas could heal dean with a thought but he does it with touch anyway? to be tactile and tender? he is a character who desperately wants to participate in the acts of creation and repair and making things whole and new. that's why i think he would take up weaving or whittling or some other hands-on craft. or sewing!!
and they took away such a emotional meaningful scene showing exactly that because it wasn't important to sam and dean's journey
#spn is about castiel's hands actually #starting with the handprint #and ending with one via @alltoowellcas
it's about! contact! the laying on of hands! what's palpable and tangible!
for those of you who have never seen it:
and the context of this scene and the episode its in ties in soo well with the post i linked above
cas realizes that gabriel and the situation that they are in is fake because the inner lining of his trenchcoat is not torn like it was in the real world
in the aired version of the episode, there is a flashback to the beginning of the episode when cas ripped his coat at the moment that he realizes this has all been fake.
but in the full version of the episode with the deleted scenes, there is no flashback because we've already had the visual reminder of his torn coat through the mending scene
cas uses the evidence (or lack thereof!) of work he did with his hands to understand that reality and his perception of it has been altered!
not only would it have been a good character moment for us to see the condition he's in wrt his grace, but it also would have served the narrative arc of the episode better to keep the scene in
