Had my call with my interim advisor (who also happens to be the director of the program 😵💫)
It went well. He gave me an overview of the program and explained how my courses will be laid out (asynchronous, two courses a semester + summer) and that I’ll have to complete an e-portfolio by the end of the last term.
As of today my expected graduation date is summer 2027.
Time will pass anyway, might as well get a degree.

I have one week left of school once I return and then I graduate 👩🏻🎓😭😵💫. It’s crazy to think that this journey will be over so soon!
I started looking into masters programs but I don’t know what I want to do yet, so that’s fun.

Hi hi hi!
As of today, I have 10 weeks left before I graduate! 2 more courses and then I am done. For now.
My last class and my current class are lighter work wise, so I’ve been more like myself lately. Which is nice, but also a little sad to say out loud.
Also because it’s autumn I’ve been knitting again!!! And I actually started reading a book. The first book I’ve willingly read all year. And yes, it’s fourth wing.

Here’s what’s on the docket:
• week 5 paper
• week 4 paper
• week 1 paper

I start my next class on Tuesday (storytelling, very excited) and I’m exploring a potential future career in tech (either QA or software engineering, I’m not sure yet) which means I’ve been reading up on python, c#, GitHub, etc. And my brother wants me to help him build a website so 🙃
Here’s to hunkering down and getting all my work done by Tuesday so I don’t have to stress over it anymore !!!!!!!!!!
as of 3:30 pm, 9/11– I have compiled the sources needed for my week 5 paper, which still needs to be written alongside the others. I am tired. It’s going to be a long night but I know it will be worth it to get it all done and over with.
✔️my week 5 paper is done, although it’s 500-ish words too short. Submitted anyway.
✔️ Discussion responses are done.
✔️ Team project eval that I forgot to mention.
In progress: week 4 paper — 265/700 words
I am going to say that it was the weird bug I caught that stopped me from getting it all done tonight, but I got my largest paper out of the way and hey—3/5 ain’t bad.
I will get the rest done tomorrow.

Ok, this is a judgement free zone.
It’s Aehako and Kira from IPB3. He calls her “sad eyes”! !!!! (I honestly swooned every time he said it) And he truly loved her for her, not for the weird “mate” thing. I definitely consider it to be friends-to-lovers and I loved every second of it.

The moral of the story is: always take time to cry for a few hours before making important decisions.
So I’m more or less being facetious here, but this is actually a thing.
Hamlet is genre savvy. Hamlet knows how Tragedies work, and he’s not going to rush in and get stabby without making absolutely certain he’s got all the facts.
Except once he thinks he has all the facts – once he’s certain that it really is the ghost of his father and Claudius really did kill him, he rushes in and stabs the wrong guy, which starts a domino line of deaths and gets Laertes embroiled in his own revenge tragedy and ultimately results in the deaths of nearly every character other than Horatio.
That’s the irony and the tragedy of the story. Hamlet knows his tropes and actively tries to avoid them, and the tropes get him anyway. It’s inevitable, the tropes are hungry.

i met a scholar once who said that tragedies aren’t about a silly “flaw” or anything, it’s about having a hero who’s just in the wrong goddamn story
if hamlet swapped places with othello he wouldn’t be duped by any of iago’s shit, he’d sit down & have a good think & actually examine the facts before taking action. meanwhile in denmark, othello would have killed claudius before act 2 could even start. but instead nope, they’re both in situations where their greatest strengths are totally useless and now we’ve got all these bodies to bury.

Small life update:
I am not out of a job! And I am currently in week ~4 of my writing for social media class (which is more difficult than I anticipated).
I managed to read 4 books so far this month, but that number should be around 8 by the end of the week.
I started knitting a blanket.
I have progressed in my French course—c’est très bien!
I go on winter break next week!
