My parents threw away all of these things (even the vacuum cleaners and the dryer) when they got too dirty to function, because no one even told them THAT they could be cleaned. Cost them thousands of dollars over the years.

All I'm saying is that cleaning is not intuitive, and not knowing how to clean is not a moral failing, but it is something you can learn.

The repair guy who exlpained this to us also showed us the SCORCH MARKS on the innards of our dryer from where the hot machinery had been surrounded with lint trapping heat like insulation.

The people who lived here before us apparently hadn't gotten this done either; he showed us how the entire space around the dryer drum was full of lint.

We are very lucky we did not have a house fire as a result of all that heat packed tight with that much kindling.

If you are responsible for a tumble dryer, get it taken apart and cleaned out every year or demand your landlord do so.

As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms 

As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.

The crossing through which food enters has been closed for more than 30 days. We have nothing to eat, and even if we do, the prices are exorbitant. Some of the prices listed are:

1 kg of meat = $100

1 chicken = $70

1 kg of fish = $100

1 bag of flour = $200

1 kg of cooking gas = $150

1 kg of sugar = $15

1 kg of eggplant = $20

1 kg of tomatoes = $10

1 kg of onions = $25

Note to mention the other very expensive essential goods. I hope you will stand by me to get food.

We are currently facing an unimaginable and heartbreaking situation in Gaza. After receiving orders from the Israeli Forces to evacuate our area, we were forced to leave our tent, running for safety while bombs rained down around us. Now, we are living in tent which needs new setting, enduring the cold, rain, and the constant fear of more attacks. Also I am a mother of three children. We have lived through the war for a year and a half, and we have lost everything we own. My husband is a man who did not work. Before the war, I did not have a breadwinner or any source of income. During the war I didn't give up to teach so I volunteered and had good chance to help some students to get engaged again with English in a very creative way.

We are in tents for almost two years‼️🥺

After our several evacuation from place to another.Now we don't have a house after it was destroyed by missiles. I now ask you to help me rebuild my house. And buy basics for the daily essentials for my children and I need money so that we can stand up again and start again.

This war wasn't easy at all it has taken many friends at work, students and some of my colleagues at the university. They are almost ten souls I won't never forget . Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.

Here’s what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:

You place upon the iron stove a mug?

A mug, ceramic, filled with water cold?

How do these flames, though medium in height,

Not shatter like a glass this fragile thing?

Surely, then, your kitchen is bewitched

With magicks far beyond the mortal ken!
