Rep. Thomas Massie introduced an amendment to cut all $3.3 billion in annual U.S. military aid to Israel. The amendment was brought to the House floor and failed by a vote of 314 to 104. Only one Republican, Massie himself, voted in favor of it. The rest of Congress, from both parties, chose to keep sending American taxpayer money to Israel. This vote makes it painfully clear: for the overwhelming majority of our politicians, Israel’s interests still come before America’s.
