In school we had to write inspirational quotes for a board because next week is finals week. Who would I be if I did not quote our favorite garden lad samwise gamgee?

sorry maeglin,,,
Turgon: I love this picture of everyone in Gondolin. We were so happy.
Ecthelion: Where's Maeglin?
Turgon: He wasn't part of Gondolin yet. That's why we were so happy.
have this funky little maedhros aesthetic! this one didn't come out as bad as I thought it would, so I might do some more fëanorian aesthetics! good day :)
Elrond Headcanon
Sometimes I like to think that Maglor would have given Elrond and Elros music lessons at some point. I'm definitely not the first person to bring this up, or at least I hope not. I don't think that Elrond would play often, if at all, just because the memories may be painful for him. I also think that he does have a big passion for song, just because Rivendell seems to be a very musical place in the books. But maybe Elrond just can't bring himself to play any instrument or sing any song because the only songs he knows were the ones Maglor taught him. It gets a little angsty when little Elladan/Elrohir/Arwen asks him to sing or play something for them.
Yes, I've read the Silmarillion, and yes it is my biggest obsession. If you gave me a test on it, would I pass? Absolutely not. But it's great.
Fingon: What are you, 5??
Maedhros: yeah, 5 heads taller than you
Fingon:
Maedhros:
Fingon:
Maedhros: please don't take me back to Thangorodrim

Maedhros reuniting with Fingon in the Halls of Mandos: I guess you could say I've...fallen for you
Fingon: you literally just threw yourself into a Fiery Chasm™
Celegorm: I can't believe you and Fingon broke the bed last night
Maglor: Yeah, what were you even doing?
Maedhros: Ummm... [last night]
Fingon: bet you can't jump high enough to touch the ceiling
Maedhros: try me
I told my cool sister that I got 6 notes on one of my posts (this is an accomplishment for me) and they legit said "Silmarillion fans are desperate". This applies to something I posted previously. And.
It's true.
Elrond and Elros: [running around and having fun like the elven children they are]
Maglor, out of breath: Maedhros, will you give me a hand here???
Maedhros holds up his hand: I would, but I only have the one and I kind of need it >:3
Since none of my friends are lotr fans, I can't get over how smart I must sound to them when I go on rants about it. I'm over here speaking in a different language 50% of the time whether it be from talking about people or places. And just the amounts of random history that I've soaked into my common knowledge over the years. Not to mention that most of the time, I'm watching more Middle-earth history yt videos than anything else ever. One time, I was going through my copy of the Silmarillion (which has color coded sticky notes popping out of every page probably twice) and my sister's friend walks in on me. After brief conversation they said "you're so intelligent if your book looks like that" and all I could say was "oh thanks" because I was not about to tell them that every marked page on the book was an instance where I thought there was some cute gay connotation behind what certain characters just said or did. Anyways, it's sort of cool that this obsession is able to mask how stupid I actually am.

Tolkien's works are so renown in society, half of which has to do with the production of the films. A lot of meme culture comes from the movies, and a lot of phrases people say in every day conversation do as well (such as "you shall not pass" and "my preciousss"). Even some of Tolkien's poems from the books have become famous, even if most people don't know where they're from. Everyone has at least heard of Lord of the Rings at some point in their lives. So if it's so popular, WHY CAN'T I FIND ANY FELLOW FANS OUTSIDE OF THE INTERNET? It's INSANE. Even the people I know who've read the books or seen the movies don't seem to have very huge interest in it. And even less people know/have read the Silmarillion. I don't know if this is everyone's experience, but those of you who know of what I speak, then alas that these evil days should be ours.
Here's a very old (badly made) Arwen & Aragorn edit! I don't have any fancy software or any video editing experience, but it's fun to do anyway. I think, although Arwen was barely in the Lord of the Rings books, her part in the films was beautiful. Not to mention that Liv Tyler as Arwen was probably my gay awakening as a kid, so she has a very special place in my heart.
