Tears unnembered shall ye shed
I started with no sketch and absolutely no plan - I had no idea where this was going. In the end, Nerdanel just sort of emerged, in a rather symbolic composition.
"It [the rebellion] will in the end only lead Fëanor and all your children to death." - Morgoth's Ring, "Part Three. The Later Quenta Silmarillion"
Maedhros in Angband | Choice 19
[Previous choice] [Masterlist] [Next Choice]
Maedhros shook his head, struggling against the Maia.
"Oh so you're going to be like that, are you???" He stood up quickly, causing Maedhros to hit his head on the cold stone floor of the forge. "See how you like it then! Stubborn little dog."
Seeing how his plan had failed he turned to his other options. He had to catch a Feanorian, but who? Maglor was the obvious next target as the ruler in Maedhros' stead, but he must be well guarded. Then Celegorm, one who often left on his own but was well armed for hunting. Caranthir kept to himself and probably wouldn't put up a fight, as a middle child he might not even be noticed for a good while. Curufin was the favourite child and spitting image of Feanor, thus making him a fine prize indeed! But who knows how much fire he really had. The twins were about the same as Celegorm but in a pair and less valuable, so he ruled them out. The the last option, the child, Celebrimbor. He was still an elfling but in his later years now, with slightly floppy ears and a lanky build. He was still pretty but as a child he was vulnerable. He had to pick one.
You, the reader, are the mysterious Maia.
Who shall you try to catch?
Maglor
Celegorm

Hot take: Maedhros tried his best to make sure Maglor wouldn't get hurt or die so that he wasn't going to be alone forever, but in the end, the brother he feared would abandon him was the actual one who was forsaken
This is the art attack I drew of @valar-critical's female version of Fëanor, Fëanárë!
I'm very proud of how she came out!
