This stops being quite as "zany shitpost" and becomes "Accidental Performance art commentary on Accessibility" when you consider the vast number of people unable to sit upright or leave a bed, most or all the time. No you don't see us, we're in bed either all the time or when our conditions flare up and put us there regularly.
When i first saw this I thought, "HAH- too bad that's not a feasible thing, then I could go so many public places while still safely cushioned and laying down!"
...only then did I realize how many people would never see it that way.

Canada should come clean on the amount it spends
-fighting against Indigenous Peoples in court,

-conducting surveillance on Indigenous activists.
I suspect the amount will be shocking

the persecution of lefthandedness is insane to think about because it was so intense for so long, in some places still is, without any clear profit motivation. sheer love of the game. as late as the 70s at least they were smacking my stepdad's hands for it with a wooden ruler at school, to this day he's in weird ambidexterity situation where he's not great with either side and notably clumsy due to poor hand-eye coordination. just wtf
It is fascinating to me that people also think of handedness as an example of bigotry that just...went away. As you note, it...hasn't in some places. I know people who grew up in the mid-late 90s who still had this problem.
But also, and this is really important to keep in mind regarding bigotry that still causes in many ways larger problems, that the structural problems are not actually fixed.
If you go to any computer lab or public library, the mice will be on the right side of the computer. Sometimes they can be moved. Sometimes they can't. Many computer mice are curved to only fit in right hands.
It is impossible to find lefthanded scissors without going to a specialty store, because most scissor makers don't even make them. And it's not just a matter of grip; the slicing side of the blades is obscured if you use righty scissors in your left hand, so your cut is off.
All those signing pads with the little chained styluses? Almost always on the right side, often not even long enough to stretch to the left. Makes signing for lefties extremely difficult.
I caused actual muscular problems in college having to twist around in order to write at right-handed desks in college when there weren't enough lefty desks--and there never were. Some classrooms didn't even have a single one.
I could go on.
But the point is, bigotry isn't just a mindset shift. People can't just decide they're not bothered by that particular difference anymore and everything's fine, because society is still structured and designed to cause problems for marginalized people. And they're never even going to notice all the little ways their life is bent to convenience them that inconveniences others.
It just seems to me a lot of time social movements from the US see themselves as pioneers and feel they must also share or rather impose their idea of what "liberation" should mean onto other people of the world without realizing that there is a complete ignorance on their part of the other's history, way of life, goals, etc so when a US "movement" gets big enough people start pushing it as a blanket solution onto other parts of the world by virtue of the internet being very skewed towards amerikkka it is just kind of ridiculous and useless
Being completely honest US social movements are decades behind other similar ones on the periphery and I think US movements would benefit more from looking at outside examples of how others have faced their hardships than the rest of the world would benefit from hearing what USians think the solution is that they themselves haven't even tried yet
At minimum you do have to realize that your solutions from your place at the heart of the empire without dismantling said empire cannot just be shared as universal to the people at the other side of the coin who are exploited by that empire

thinking about the time also with some former roommates where one of them half jokingly was like "man i love monday because the kitchen is always spotless because Story cleans it on sunday" and i was like "what are you talking about" and they were like "you deep clean the kitchen every sunday?" and i was like "? no i don't i have absolutely no idea what you mean."
we went back and forth for 30 seconds and it got awkward really fast because it turns out all my other roommates thought i just had a compulsive need or some sort of desire to deep clean the kitchen every sunday and they just left me to it.
when in reality i was meal prepping for the entire week every sunday and when i finished i cleaned up after myself obviouslyâwiped the counters down, scraped gunk off the stove, scrubbed the sink, and swept the floor.
took me 10 minutes but always left it looking great.
then i didn't use the kitchen the whole rest of the week because i'd just grab my prepped meals in the morning and go out for all-day fieldwork.
but apparently nobody else ever cleaned up after themselves at all when they cooked. like they'd just leave food on the stove and counters and drop shit on the floor etc. and not clean it up so they thought every monday morning the kitchen was "deep cleaned" simply bc there wasn't old food on every surface.
i was like, "...........i've noticed the kitchen is always messy when i use it on sundays but i've always figured someone just used it and didn't get around to cleaning it up yet and i didn't mind because i'm always about to make a mess anyway............y'all just use the kitchen like that all week?"
and one of the guys (very funny, i liked him) looked around and realized I was the only woman* (*closeted at the time) living there and he went "this is really bad, like, optics wise."
"I love it when you deep clean"

I love finding updates. This "artsy" 1903 town home in Chicago, IL finally sold last month after having been on & off the market since 2021. The 2bd, 3ba, 2,275sqft home sold for $670k (Original asking price $750k.) It's unusual and was renovated right down to the studs.
