many people would feel better if they engaged with artists only as far as βi listen to their musicβ or βi watch their shows and moviesβ and reblog photos or gifs or whatever like posters theyβre putting on their bedroom wall but act like twitter and instagram arenβt a thingβpretend all the information you get about your fave is from J14 magazine like back in the day.
This is honestly a much healthier way to engage with creators than whatever has become normalized recently.
People need to stop asking the creators to be the arbiters of fandom.
Stop asking the author if your ship is canon; you don't need permission to have fun.
Stop asking the author to condemn ships or their protagonists worldviews, unreliable narrators exist and so do things that will make you feel uncomfortable.
