So when I say that an artist is overrated, I don’t say that “x artists is shit”.

You should stop confusing “overrated” with “shit” because overrated =/= shit.

Overrated = Doesn’t deserve all the popularity it has.

Let’s put this on an example.

Text: “i think viria is terribly overrated”

What you think I mean: i think viria is bullshit

What I really mean: i think viria’s art is good and that but she doesn’t deserve that many notes (10.000, sometimes even 20.000+) on most of her drawings. there are lots of awesome HQ!! artists out there and you should not only focus on the 3 best known (viria, johanna, mookie). 

Personally, I reblog most of the art I do straight from the fandom tag because is where the new stuff and the new artists come in. I reblog what I like and only what I like, however, because that is my prerogative. However, I do NOT go around and twist my panties because some things that aren’t of my taste get a thousand notes, where the ones I do like only get a few. Because, in the end, the only notes over which I have any sort of control are MINE. 

Really, who are we to decide who deserves notes? If you like something, like/reblog. There are two more notes and multiple dashes the thing might not have reached. It isn’t political; it’s mathematical. Don’t get bent out of shape because some people have numbers on their side. Swallow your sour grapes and respect them because they worked hard to get there. It takes guts to post art, mostly because people are shitty and like to take it upon themselves to decide the worth of said art by limited and uneducated standards.
