Accepting identities I don't understand is actually extremely easy because I just go "this isn't about me" and move on with my life unbothered by someone else's identity, it's truly that simple.

i heard someone say once, “you don’t need to speak French to acknowledge that it’s a language that exists”. and i feel like more ppl need to keep that in mind when they come across something they don’t understand.

Really wish the default for trans men wasnt top sugery. Access to top sugery for those who want it should be a priority, and normalizing things like top sugery scars is beautiful and meaningful but shoutout to trans men who dont want top sugery. Shoutout to trans men who cant get top sugery for health reasons. Shoutout to trans men who cant access top sugery. Shout out to trans men who are scared of sugery. Shout out to trans men who want breast reductions. shoutout to trans men who like their boobs. Shout out to trans men who like binding. Shout out to fat trans men who want to keep their tits. Shout out to gender non conforming trans men. The world needs more men with boobs.

i wanna see more art of trans men with boobs where the point of the art is anything other than the fact that they have boobs. i want the idea of trans men with breasts to stop being novel. i want people to stop perceiving trans men as only either having already had top surgery or always binding. i want people to stop assuming everyone with visible breasts is a woman or woman-aligned. i want breasts to become a completely genderless feature. i wanna be allowed to let em hang without being misgendered. i wanna be able to stop worrying about what to put on my chest every day for the sake of other people's perception of me without feeling pressured into getting expensive surgery. i want that to stop being the only two options for transmascs

Non-binary people get louder NOW. Non-binary people get angrier NOW. Be a killjoy. Get obnoxious about your pronouns. Put gendered words together in ways that people don't like and spit on the ones they think are mandatory. Refuse to laugh at their stupid exorsexist "jokes". Dress in ways they don't understand. Refuse to answer their prying questions. Tell exorsexists to kiss your ass. Keep your chin up. Raise your voice. Get loud and a little cocky. I want to see your nonbinarity from outer space. Don't get it twisted; do it TODAY. Do you understand me?

The most interesting question you can ask about any character is not what do they want. it's what do they believe they deserve. because those two things are almost never the same and the gap between them is where your entire story lives. a person can want love completely and believe they don't deserve it and that belief will destroy every good thing that comes toward them in ways they won't even notice they're doing. write the gap. the gap is the character.

Sometimes you will be a lesbian to your parents and a straight man to your partners parents and a gay man to your partner and a woman to your grandparents and out to your friends and stealth to your classmates and a nice young lady to the cashier at the coffee shop and then people on your computer will ask you to choose which of these identities you ACTUALLY are and which you are Appropriating The Oppression Of because don’t you know they contract each other. You can only be one thing solidly forever

What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening. If kindness used to come with a price, kindness can feel suspicious. So healing is not just “they know they’re safe now.” Healing is the slow, annoying, deeply unfair process of teaching the body that the old prediction is not always the present truth.
