Trans people in the USA are about 3 times more likely than cis women to struggle accessing abortion related healthcare following abortion bans.

Trans and intersex people are at least twice as likely to attempt a self managed abortion than cis women.

And, I don't have a link at hand, but pregnancy has been used as a tool of forced detransition.

This stems from a history of pregnancy being weaponized by the patriarchy, and thus a lot of people uncritically adopt that view of it. This obviously does affect cis women, but often ignored are how often the very real MEN who are capable of getting pregnant are VERY often made so by force as punishment for deviation.

Being subject to corrective rape and forced impregnation is nauseatingly common against trans men and mascs as a means of punishment. It's one the most pervasive forms of violence against men who are capable of getting pregnant, so I just find the way it's framed here as being fine when it's a man capable of getting pregnant, whilst then being seen as something INHERENTLY violent towards a cis woman to be rather indicative of the unintentionally misogynistic mindset even more progressive folk have about pregnancy.

Something something trans men and their bodies are either fetishized or viewed as an obstacle to be ignored or shoved aside whilst fetishizing something else.

Like, if a trans man does get pregnant, and WANTS TO BE, there's nothing; zero support, zero acknowledgement, he's swept under the rug. It only exists as a joke or as a punishment in the public consciousness.

And, yk, that fucking bothers me. It's gross that we've stigmatized what is just a part of life for so many other people so much for trans men that they get no support at all.

the navy officer i asked about cyber attacks did answer my question very thoroughly. he also answered other questions such as "when refueling on sea, which boat is the primary course holder?" and "would switching to another government branch affect your retirement benefits?" and generally provided a lot of information over the course of a fascinating hour that as a former government employee myself i am pretty sure he should not have told me. but i also think he would have told me his social security number if i asked nicely (i didn't, I was busy learning about the tactical advantages of speedboats).

the guy obsessed with boat refurbishment that i asked about his tendency towards preservation gave me a really haunted look, said "holy fuck" and then after a moment of consideration "i think i am too drunk. i'm going home" and proceeded to leave. in my defense, it was well and truly meant as genuine curiosity and not as the attempt at psychological warfare it turned out to be. he unfortunately did not answer my question.
