If you haven't read it yet, it's just the right thing for a tropical escapist fantasy. Stiles is snarky, Derek slowly learns to communicate with more than nonverbal smolders, and the two of them make a life together in a very un-Beacon-Hills-like setting.
My headcanon is that Sam never planned to completely disconnect from hunting & the family and was prepping an eighty page dissertation on how he can use the college library and maybe meet them on breaks and actually, it would be really helpful to have lawyer in the family (fully lying to himself with a shred of hope) but maybe, just maybe, but then the fight with john happens and dean won’t come with him and he doesn’t get a chance to say any of it
