This is probably so obvious, but I’ve been reading Jax’s outburst wrong this whole time.

I always thought that Jax is afraid to trust Pomni, because she could leave him or abstract at any time. So he hurt her before she can hurt him.

But rewatching this interaction with Ragatha, it’s clear that Jax believes, like everyone else, that maybe there’s something about him that causes the people he gets close with to abstract.

So this look right here isn’t him being afraid for himself, it’s him being afraid for HER. So he ruins everything. He pushes her away and tries to get her to hate him. He’s not afraid of trusting her, he does. He’s afraid of KILLING HER. 💔
