No, that regular normie non fandom person who doesn't want to watch GOT because of the incest isn't an anti. No, that idiot on Twitter (who is probably a rage baiter) who thinks that horror/tragedy shouldn't be written because it ends with sorrow and no comfort isn't an anti. No, that person who made a one-off comment about RPF shipping being invasive and creepy isn't an anti. No, that person who reblogged something punching up on published Twilight/Reylo/Dramione fic isn't an anti. I mean, those people COULD be antis, but those STATEMENTS aren't anti rhetoric. But I've seen proshippers describe all of those things as "anti rhetoric." And then in some cases they continue to dogpile and harass and make fun of these people, which I'm REALLY not into! Tbh, I'm normally in the camp of "if you see a bad take online you should just make fun of it in your private GC" but even then, if it gets to the point where the private GC in question will seemingly ONLY exist to make fun of such takes, I'm like...aren't you tired?

I don't even think actual, meatspace-world censorship is anti rhetoric. Book banning and shutting down of libraries isn't something that you can really blame "Proshit DNI!!" on, yet some people seem to think there's an actual cause and effect phenomenon of such things.

Obviously, self-described proshippers who act Like That are a pretty vocal minority, but unfortunately they're the minority that I often seem to run into (which? I am willing to admit that maybe I'm somehow doing something wrong here by continuing to find these groups?) and it's turned me off from the label/movement. I still 100% believe in the quote-unquote "actual" meaning of proship, of course, but it does upset me that a very small group of particularly...uh...passionate? people have soured many parts of it for me.
