Farewell online privacy
What happened?
Trump happened.
just get a VPN?
You canât just tell people to âget a VPN (Virtual Private Network)â. Buying a VPN is like buying a house. Itâs very very important. Having no VPN or having a âwrongâ one can seriously damage your life. Especially for Americans because their privacy laws are garbage. I am going to try explain why you should get a VPN but bare with me, I am from Germany and my English is far from perfect.Â
Letâs start with a simple test. Click this link here:Â https://whatismyipaddress.com/ It will tell your IP adres, your ISP (internet service provider), and your location. The location might not be very accurate, but then again, itâs just a simple website. Imagine what the government can do!
So basically, everyone can find out where you live. But there is more danger. Your ISP. Your ISP logs your every move online and they are required to keep it in case the government wants access to it (or if a 3rd party wants to buy your data (yikes). They have everything. What websites you visit. How long you stay on a website. What you download. Your search terms. European laws are more subtle on this but if you are from the US you are #@*#&, especially because Trump doesnât support the open internet. Itâs scary but maybe in the future you canât get a job because the recruiter knows your searched on âhow to deal with depressionâ or anythings else thatâs supposed to be private because itâs your f*cking right. Or you get a $100k fine because you pirated a movie 15 years ago. You need a VPN. Youâre dumb for not using one. but what does a VPN do?
A VPN encrypts all your data so if it were be intercepted no one can âcrack the codeâ and damage your privacy.Â
Usually being online goes like this (simplified): Your computer â-> ISP (ââ> keeps data ââ> sells it)
But with a VPN it goes like: Your computer ââ> VPN (encrypts data)ââ> ISP (ISP canât see shit)
Furthermore, a VPN hides your IP address and location by giving you another IP address located in Spain for example (you can often choose from a list and change as many times as you want). Â
Now that you know why you should get a VPN and what is does it is important to educate yourself because people often choose the wrong VPN. VPN providers are also businesses and have to obey the law. If you choose a VPN provider located in the US then you are throwing your money away because the laws in the US shits on your privacy. If the US gov wants the provider to give all their logs they have to obey. The ISP  still canât see what you are doing online and sell your data but the US gov can interfere with your VPN provider so NEVER CHOOSE A PROVIDER LOCATED IN THE US.Â
I just wanted to make that very clear so my followers donât buy false security.
There is still more danger! Who says your VPN provider isnât selling your data? You need to check their logging policy. Do they keep logs? If yes, what for? For how long do they keep them? Tip: Choose a provider who doesnât keep logs
More about law The US is part of the Five Eyes program (the worst): Â
The Five Eyes, often abbreviated as FVEY, is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. These countries are bound by the multilateral UKUSA Agreement, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence (source)
There is also a Nine Eyes (bit better) and Fourteen Eyes Program (better). You donât want a VPN provider who is located in one the Five Eyes countries. If you had to choose go for a provider located in a country thatâs part of the Fourteen Eyes Program or even better, go for a country that isnât part of any program!Â
I know this is a shitty explanation and please pardon my english but now itâs time to do your own research. Take your privacy seriously. Maybe WWIII breaks out and you get killed for liking the âwrongâ FB-page. Â
Go to this website:Â https://thatoneprivacysite.net/simple-vpn-comparison-chart/
Make sure that your future VPN provider both has green boxes for Privacy Jurisdiction and Privacy Logging.Â
I recommend ovpn.se and trust.zone. ovpn is located in Sweden so they are part of the 14 Eyes Program and they keep minimal logs. Their business ethics, however, are alright.Â
Trustzone is located in the Seychelles. No country can interfere and their privacy jurisdiction is the best you can get. The US want your data but needs to get it from Trustzone? The Seychelles will simply give them the finger and wave them goodbye. However, this makes this provider very appealing for people who torrent and criminals because they keep no logs (and that is how it shoud be) Also, Â there are almost no marketing efforts so this provider is one the cheapest)
Also, often providers such as ExpressVPN are being called âThe Bestâ on websites about VPNs but know that this is just marketing which also makes those provider more expensive (and they too shit on your privacy)
This must be the worst article you have ever read but please, please take your privacy very seriously.
EDIT: I got many people asking me which provider I use. For those who want to know, I use Trust Zone. They offer a free 3-day trial with no strings attached. But still do your own research!Â
I am also with Trustzone but I think you forgot to explain one of itâs most important features. It protects you when you are using someone elseâs Wi-Fi. If you are at Starbucks and you use their Wi-Fi your privacy is at risk. Anyone with ill intentions could steal your information. Especially if you are using an unsecured Wi-Fi hotspot. With a VPN your data gets encrypted so no one can steal it.Â
Wait, whatâs going, on? Did trump destroy internet privacy with a bill or something? Whereâs the news? Oh wait, why am I getting visions of Alex Jones and selling water purifiers?
He hasnât yet but he says he wants to. And if he is serious about it it would be really easy to do. Since all our data is already recorded, as the person above explained.
Trump wants more surveillance of Muslim Americans. This in a country where internet privacy is already close to non-existent.Â
Trust.Zone has a free trial. Use it.Â
btw this post only has 11k notes? Thatâs quite disappointing for something this important.Â
Donât reblog this post to save a life. Reblog this to protect an entire family!
@earth-ruins @writing-prompt-s Should I get trustzone for my mobile device?

Donât tell me you just wanted to scroll past this. Stop looking at pictures of cats for a moment, okay? Donât you realize how important this is? This is dangerous! âAmerica, the best FREE country in the worldâ my ass.
With this new law your ISP can sell your Internet history which could include passwords, usernames, religion, credit card numbers, race and much more to the highest bidder. So here is what I want you to do. You are going to read the whole thing and before you think âthis is so important. Let me reblog this real quick and go back to admiring cats again-â NO! Donât reblog this. Take action first. Then reblog. Sign up for a free trial! Trust.Zone offers one (here). Yes. It might be difficult to set up a VPN for some people. But is that going to stop you from protecting yourself and your family? 30 minutes. 30 minutes is all that it takes. 5 if you know how to install software. The problem with some of you is that you see âdifficultâ as something negative. I want you to see difficult differently. I need you to push through this stuff. You are going to protect yourself. There is nothing negative about that. VPNs are fun and costsaving too! A VPN bypasses geographical restrictions so you can access websites you normally canât or you could start Netflixâs one month free trial over and over again- forever. And itâs legal! (unless you use it to buy weapons etc.,) Donât tell yourself that you are too tired and that you will do this tomorrow. Because that isnât going to happen and you know it. You have to do this right now. You only have to click on it. Donât let this/shit/life just happen to you. Take yourself seriously. Get a VPN.

UPG. Living in Maâat Guide
Hello everyone, this is the Priest(tess) mentioned in Princeâs Kemetic guide about Set, here to compile my ideas for getting isfet and maâat in some semblance of proper balance, at least in your immediate area, because it looks like the next couple months at least are going to be a riot.
Disclaimer: Iâm neither a scholar nor a formal authority on the topic, and properly worship only one of the gods, which will color my perceptions, but I felt the need to share my thoughts on the matter nonetheless, due to circumstances that have cropped up in a lot of places, including my interactions with people and my own faith.
So, without further ado:
Welcome to Chessâ guide to adopting Maâat into your daily life.
~!~
Part One: Maâat is not peace.
Maâat is usually translated as order, harmony, truth, and balance. That doesnât mean itâs peace and quiet, though those can be side-effects.
Keep in mind:
The goal of Maâat is to keep the world functioning as it should
Maâat is objective
Maâat counters Isfet, in every place that Isfet occurs
To practice Maâat is to counter Isfet at its core, by every means you can. Means will be different from person to person, but the next part will cover common ways.
Part Two: Countering Isfet
Commonly perceived as doing things in old ways or rituals, but countering Isfet isnât so simple as waving a candle and praying.
However, prayer does help a lot; sincere prayer, sans formality, sans pretention, is at its core one of the best ways to foster Maâat in your life. Through prayer you can learn to speak freely and directly, which wonât always make things nice but if youâre true then youâre doing what needs to be done.
Directly, even, because fostering Maâat in yourself and for the gods will directly affect their nature. The gods fight Isfet at every turn; to foster Maâat is to aid the gods themselves, doing your part to keep the world turning.
However, prayer wonât be enough.
Here are other ways you can foster Maâat through yourself and others.:
Bring others to an understanding
Bring others to an understanding
Draw out the truth of the matter before you
Practice emotional maturity and sincerity
Practice understanding when you or a situation needs help
Be fair and just even when (especially when) itâs inconvenient or someone is noisy about it
You donât have to do all of them, but if you see the opportunity within your means, take it. Many of these will be difficult and frustrating, but in the end it will ease the pressure off your immediate area.
Everyone has a different way of doing things. More concrete examples would be like mediating or even facilitating an argument to draw out the grievances within and thus result in proper harmony, or advocating for reforms that will benefit those in need.
Part Three: Take care of yourself
I understand that these things can be dangerous to a lot of people. I understand that every one of these things can put your life on the line, in an abusive home or relationship, or a misguided community. Bear in mind: You cannot work Maâat if youâre already dead, and the above are not absolutes.
Keep in mind:
Know when to stop and regroup; if you burn out that day, Maâat will prosper later if you will yourself to keep a level head and fix the problem from inside.
Donât sell yourself short; you have worth and to believe it will help you.
Understand people but separate your self from that of others; one of the fastest ways to burn out is to put yourself in every situation that you see Isfet in.
Cleanliness, organization, and proper nutrition all foster Maâat; if you canât do it for yourself that day, keep in mind that your gods need you to be in top form, and to do it for them or yourself is the same result.
Monitor yourself closely; unnecessary destruction of any kind, including of yourself through abuse or mishandling your capabilities, not only causes you trouble but also fosters Isfet in a lot of sometimes unnoticeable but later significant ways.
Donât forget the little things; not everyone has the means to go out there and fight Isfet in big, flashy ways, and itâs equally important to keep your internal harmony and balance.
This isnât to say to shy away from pain, but to know that you shouldnât kill yourself over the work. If it hurts, understand why, and address it as positively as you can, by what means are available and in-line with Maâat.
If you know itâs necessary, even if youâre afraid of it, voice your thoughts and do what must be done.
Part Four: Maâat for the gods
The above covers Maâat among people, and the below will cover Maâat in your communication and interactions with your gods, whether scholarly or mystical.
Some of these were covered in the above, but here they are doubly emphasized:
Speak truly, clearly, and respectfully
Offer from the heart
Feel sincerely, but donât let yourself be overwhelmed
Know when to draw the line, for yourself and for them
Let yourself believe you have influence, whether it sounds crazy or not
Be willing to listen and discern the truth from anything, direct or indirect
Be willing to consider both the negatives and positives of the gods, and reconcile them
Respect that some people will have unusual beliefs and interactions with their faith, differing from yours
FOR MYSTICAL KEMETICS: Be empathetic, but know your limits; be careful with what they ask of you, and whether or not it will be good for both of you, and whether or not you yourself are influencing what you might hear; understand that some people donât believe the way you believe and thatâs fine, the gods have accounted for such.
FOR SCHOLARLY KEMETICS: Respect that some kemetics believe in the gods in a more direct fashion, that others will have differing interpretations of the gods and their stories, and that the truth of Maâat is in the core of the stories and not the details, timeless and universal.
Part 5: Devotional activities
A word of notice first of all: This is a difficult faith to practice openly, but itâs one that shouldnât be hidden away. If you canât practice openly, this might not be the faith for you, at least at the current time.
That said, if you can devote only a small amount of time to the gods, do so as regularly as you can. Any activity can be a devotional if you offer it up to the gods you want to give it to, though some of them may have preferences.
Miscellaneous acts you can offer the gods:
Making a playlist
Cooking
Cleaning the house
Eating, as if you were sharing a meal off the same plate (pray over the food, say youâre offering it, ask them to share with you in the moment, that kind of thing)
Art or writing of any kind
Magic and rituals, if thatâs your thing
Taking care of pets
Taking care of people
Talking to them (basically prayer, though with the express purpose of just talking; tell them about your day)
Exercise (yoga, aerobics, tai-chi, zumba; if you feel the burn you can offer it)
Playing music or singing
Playing games, whether videogames, puzzles, visual novels, or physical activities
Going places (museums and parks are a good choice, movies are also good)
Defending the truth
Calling for justice
Advocating for the proper treatment of those in need
Basically any projects or activities that take time and make you meditate on the gods or the activity in question, especially if you do it by yourself or can get a group moving in harmony.
You can also offer:
Things you find (cool pebbles, flowers, a nice purchase)
Things you own (jewelry, books, old things youâve made)
Things you experience (a memory, a story, your feelings)
Significant moments in your life (celebrations, upheavals, opportunities)
With the above, remember: Offering doesnât mean something is given up, but that itâs shared.
(Quick tip: I offer food off my plate because I canât always make a shrine, and I do it by murmuring over it, â[godâs form of address], I offer you this [food, named as if youâre describing it to the judge of a cooking show], please enjoy this offering with me/eat together with me.â Modify as you please, but the basic idea is there.
This is specifically a devotional act if you eat slowly, enjoy the food, and have dinner conversation, so you might want to either save it for special meals or do it a lot and very quietly. When youâre done, thank them for sharing with you.)
Closing Remarks:
In the end, this is only a guide. Each of us fight Isfet and devote ourselves differently, personally, and most of all, with Maâat, which might not always be fun but should always bring about something better than what came before.
Always keep in mind that what you do, what Maâat is, is to make things better than they were before, as the world should be.
Thank you for reading!

Healing for Others
Sometimes, those you care about are having a rough time. And you want to help! Itâs natural to want to use what you know to help others. Hereâs a spell I use to do just that.
What You Need:
turquoise
amethyst
lavender
rose petals
red candle
Now, set it all up. Candle in the middle, I sprinkled the lavender and rose petals around said candle. The lavender is to help soothe my particular personâs deep sadness, while the rose petals symbolize my love for them.Â
I held the amethyst in one hand, for protection and clearing mind clutter, allowing for clarity and healing. Turquoise for another type of protection, more physical. Both to help clear the personâs mind and aid them.
Then, I focused. Focused on how much I cared for the person, how much they meant to me, times weâd had in the past that meant so much to me. I thought of how my strength was given to them and how I wanted them to be better and safer and feel loved.Â
After a little while of this, I bottle the exact lavender and rose petals I used to give to the person at a later date!
