i can’t believe tidy minimalist crowley and anachronistic clutterbitch aziraphale semi-canonically move in together after the events of good omens. to a small cottage. they’ve overcome heaven and hell and everything they’ve probably done to each other over the years in the names of their respective sides of the war, but the thing that finally makes them worry whether they’re going to make it as a pair is trying to decorate and cohabitate that fucking house without killing each other

What gets me is that initial pause. The bird knows this song. He knows when the drum comes in. Being able to anticipate musical rhythm is a form of intelligence very few species have, and this is the most remarkable example of it I’ve ever seen in a bird. The cockatoo knew to wait for the drums.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab worked with Neil and Terry back in 2007 to create an official perfume oil line for GO, and updated it with more blends for the show! Aziraphale is ‘Ethereal musk, blonde woods, and dusty Bible accord’ and Crowley is ‘Infernal musk, red patchouli, lilac cologne, mahogany, lemon rind, oakmoss, leather, and vanilla husk‘. ‘This is a charitable, not-for-profit venture: proceeds from every single bottle are split between the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, which works to preserve and protect the First Amendment rights of the comics community, and the Orangutan Foundation UK, which works to actively preserve orangutan habitats while supporting long-term research projects that benefit orangutans.’ CBLDF was Neil’s choice, while Terry loved orangutans. 

I want to add a quick comment to the last bit, because I got myself a sample of BPAL’s “Aziraphale” from a friend recently, and it does exactly what it says on the tin (on my skin at least, perfume oils do react differently to different people, so ymmv. But on me it was what it said.)  They list “dusty bible accord” and I swear, they have somehow managed to get the smell of old book pages into a perfume, I don’t know how, I suspect some kind of infernal contract, honestly, but they did! It has exactly that “old book” vanilla-y, papersoft smell. And it’s... just exactly right for Aziraphale. Nothing in the perfume is loud or aggressive, and it wears very close to the skin, it doesn’t spread out and announce you to everyone in the room. As well as the book-paper scent, the other notes are soft and woody, a little dry, a little dusty, warm and a tiny bit sweet (but not too sweet, like a memory of vanilla, sort of smell?), with a gentle pale musk, and there’s the faintest suggestion of something sharper underneath, but hidden away (or maybe that’s part of the musk?  I have trouble picking scents apart like some people can, but it’s like something almost... spicy, but not spices?  Some woods get a sort of “spice” smell to them when they’re cut?  Like that.)  It’s not a “modern” scent at all. POINT IS, they nailed it, I don’t know HOW, but it’s delightful. I tried “Crowley” as well, and it smelled amazing in the vial, definitely very Crowley (though I would venture the suggestion that it seemed more book!Crowley than show!Crowley, a little more suave, a little less frenetic) but unfortunately I can’t wear anything with even a hint of lilac, because my skin chemistry amplifies it and it overpowers everything else, so that was a non-starter for me (that and lavender go absolutely feral on my skin, it’s so annoying). I bet it’s amazing on someone else though! I was very sad when I tried it and my skin went NOPE. Fair warning, BPAL’s website is... not the most intuitive to navigate, but it’s well worth the effort to look through their vast collection (hundreds of scents!) they have some really interesting things, not just the Good Omens range. [/raaaambling]  That “quick comment” got away from me a bit *facepalm* but I was floored that they managed to bottle "old bookshop”.

Why do I never think about the possibility of snow on the ocean??? Now I see why, because it’s too ethereal
