Hi there. This might sound completely silly, but do you think it's ok to thank God for things that make us happy? I don't mean like thanking him for my mum, or my dog, or the people in my life, but to actually thank him for THINGS.
I know we're not meant to be focused on the materialistic but I'm really grateful to God for my favourite TV program, for my favourite Teddy, for the things that I buy in my life that make me happy. I like to buy and make things, and they bring me a LOT of joy.
Do you think that's ok? I'm guessing it probably isn't because it might make me like the wealthy man, with all his material objects, and a camel has more of a chance of passing through the eye of a needle.
I could never love my material objects more than God, but I am really grateful to be able to buy/ collect/ receive great joy from the books, toys, items that I do have. And I know it sounds silly, but i thank God that things like that exist. I don't have friends, and i struggle to get joy from the people in my life, so I really appreciate the things in my life that do bring me joy.
I massively respect your work, so I thought I'd ask your perspective on the matter.

everything we own the Lord has allowed us to enjoy, so yes, we absolutely should thank Him for all our blessings! we don't need to feel guilty for being blessed by Him. however, it's important not to let these things become idols in our lives. if they become too important to us, they may take away our attention from the Lord, and waste resources He may have given us to bless others. we are only temporary stuarts of the things God has blessed us with.
the verse about the rich man and the camel (Mark 10:23-27) is speaking about a wall entrance called the "eye of the needle." merchants had to remove all their goods from the camel's back for the animal to fit through the entrance hole. rich people have a much harder time finding God's salvation, because all their physical needs are met and they live in luxury. they often rely on their money/ possessions to get through life, not realizing their spiritual need for the Lord. but they still have the chance to accept Him (verse 26-27).
so i would say, find your joy in the Lord first and foremost! continually thank Him for all the ways He blesses your life every day. and be willing to sacrifice and give up some of those things if He calls you to, for His glory.

no i don't believe "aliens from outer space" is a thing. as i tried to explain, Satan is the Prince of the Air, and his demonic forces are at work in that realm. "monstrous humanoid creatures from the sky with higher powers than us" is literally just fallen angels. if they can show up as false angels of light and ghosts/deities/spirits, they can show up as aliens. it's all meant to deceive.
Satan is creating the foundation for his lie that will "explain away" the Rapture, in which Jesus rescues His children before the Tribulation. those that didn't want to accept Jesus will readily accept the explanation that everyone that vanished were taken by the aliens. and Satan will be temporarily running the show (Revelation 13;5-7), so i'm sure they will finally make their appearance while he's in power.
that's my speculation anyway. i don't know how it'll go down, and i don't plan to be here to find out! 😂 praise the Lord for "our blessed hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13) 💙✝️

my user name is "10yrsy-art", "10yrsy" being the original user name of all my accounts. it used to reference a song, but i've used this name for so many years that it doesn't really have a meaning anymore 😂 it's just who i am online, and people can easily find me because i've never changed it.
despite my own initial reluctance, the Lord really impressed upon me that this was His message that He wanted to share. He always warns in love, as a family member warns their loved ones when they see danger coming. for it's not His will that any should perish, but all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
and if you see these things come to pass and you're still here, you can still accept Jesus' salvation. but it will be hard. don't take the Mark of the Antichrist on your forehead or hand, your eternal death would then be sealed. believe on the Lord Jesus Christ today, He is the only way!

today is my 33rd birthday, (roughly) the same age as Jesus was crucified. it's crazy to think how young He was.. i haven't accomplished any grand achievements in my life, and yet, in just 3 years, He changed the world for all time. no other human has ever done that. because He wasn't just a human, He is the Son of God; God made flesh to live the perfect life and sacrifice it for us.
i'm so blessed to reach age 33. He has been with me supporting and holding me up the whole time. i don't seek earthly achievements or put my hope in milestones. i look enthusiastically toward my Heavenly future where my life will truly begin. no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and my mind can't comprehend what the Lord has planned for me there (1 Corinthians 2:9).
time is about to reach its end. the world is in a downward spiral, and the Christ Jesus is the only stability to be found. He is coming for those that are His own, and He wants you to be one of them. i want you to be one of them. don't be left behind to suffer through a world of deception, destruction, and death; devoid of the Light of God. accept His loving hand of salvation now, before it's too late.

this story was inspired by the little adventures i take outside. my chronic illnesses limit the amount of time i spend away from my house, but i absolutely adore nature. i was thinking about how even the beauty of the Earth currently is barely s shadow compared to the wonders of God's Kingdom in Heaven.
the Light of Christ is like that. without Him, you may feel like thing are going pretty good. you enjoy the temporary pleasures and believe whatever seems right to you. but being in spiritual darkness and stepping into the Truth is like night and day.
the people of the Caverns don't know what they are missing, and most of them don't care to find out. they don't know of all the sights they've never seen and the colors they've never witnessed, or the love they've never experienced.
don't be like them. turn to the Lord and accept what He did for you to set you free. Jesus calls you everyday to offer you salvation from your sins, and to bring you into His eternal kingdom. no temporary pleasure or religious practice will ever hold a candle to the Love of God.
"Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord." -Romans 7:24-25

Here, amidst the dark Depths, reside the Caverns. Here we have dwelt and here we shall remain, dwindling away our days in the dirt and stone, the long shadows our continuous companions from wake to sleep.
We are all in search of the light; the candle is our coveted treasure, the high arch window is our holy place.
Some content themselves in the drip of the purple flame, unaware that the flicker draws the shadows to consume, unaware of inky black reaching forward to satisfy its own hunger in the deep.
But there is no true light there; the darkness only whispers lies, as tasty morsels to the yearning.
Is there anything more to behold than the candle and the high arch window? Will we forever bask in the echoes of the More?
I met a peculiar man today. He stood at the Gate of the Chasm, though I could detect no fear in him.
“Do you desire the Light?” he inquired.
I laughed, for who doesn't? “Do you possess a new torch for me?” I asked him. “Have you found a secret room of holy rays to share?”
He looked at me and then back at the Gate. “Here is your Light,” he said, motioning to the hazy beam that traveled down into the unending pit.
I shook my head in derision as I gazed upward to the celestial peak. “None can reach it, sir. It leads only to death and darkness.”
“In this you speak truth,” the man agreed, “For none may reach the florescent stream, but by death. I have fallen to meet the Depths and have returned.”
I was astonished to find the evidence of his words by the wounds that he bore to me. “Surely one such as I would not survive such a fall,” I whispered in morose echoes.
His head bobbed understandingly. “None may fall to the Depths and scale the Heights alone. Only I.”His eyes flashed, a holy glow I could not grasp. “I will take you with me.”
Though my eyes widened and my body shook, I felt the roil of my innermost desires for the light. As I peered once more into the pit and up into the pale, I knew I must go with him. I could not stay in the Caverns, for what could they offer? I nodded.
“Hold onto me and do not let go,” the man instructed, as he roped us together and began his ascent. I clutched desperately at his robes, as the emptiness nipped at my feet. The ravenous hunger of the Chasm pulled at my legs with icy skeletal fingers, and I was very afraid. But the main climbed steadfast on, never wearying to let me fall.
At long last, we reached the circle of illumination, and as I passed the barrier of the Chasm, life burst forth all around me. My eyes grew wide again, and wider still, for the beauty to behold.
We stood, as it were, on a mountain side, though I had yet to ever see such a place before. A vast expanse of blue luminescence swept overhead, as though a colossal canopy of a thousand dazzling holy windows.
A great tree bejeweled my view, far exceeding any straggly limb to grow in the holy grotto of the Caverns. Streams of gold shone glittering through its branches. I turned to the man, filled with unexplainable gratitude.
“Do you like it?” he asked, voice thick with tenderness.
My eyes prickled, even as I took his hand in muted exuberance. I worked to dislodge the stone of joy silencing my words, and blurted, “The others must know!”
He offered me a look of solemn agreement, a gravity and pain to his face. “Yes, they must know. I go to them, for none may fall to the Depths and scale the Heights alone. Only I.”
His gaze pierced my soul, and I understood in a rush of emotion. None could pass the Gates of the Chasm; all attempts would lead to the deadly Depths. But the Man descended the carnivorous gloom and returned, ascending the shaft of Celestial Light. Only He could lead the way.
“I go to them day and night, from first flicker to last wax. I lead them to the Gate, I tell them of the Light, but few will allow Me to take them up. They comfort themselves in the light of the faint arch window and the tremble of the purple flame. They do not know of this Realm of Light.”
His sharp focus returned to me. “But I will return once more, and again once more. I will tell them.”
As the pools of His eyes swirled and deepened in eternal compassion, my resolve hardened. I knew what I must do.
“I will go with You,” I promised.
He smiled.
“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, 'I am the Light of the world. If you follow Me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” -John 8:12
“Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness.” -Luke 11:35
“And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!” -Matthew 6:23
"For the Lord Himself will come down from Heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
Jesus, the Son of God, gave His life and shed His blood for the payment of your sins. by acknowledging your sinful nature, and trusting in Him as the only means of salvation, you're included in this event! For Jesus promised in John 14:2-3, "There are many rooms in My Father's house (..) I go to prepare a place for you (..) When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so you will always be with Me where I am."
God poured out His wrath for our sins onto Jesus' body on the cross; once and for all time (Hebrews 9:28). Therefore we the Church, as the Body of Christ, cannot be here to experience God's Wrath again (1 Thessalonians 5:9). the Tribulation that is coming is the time of God's Wrath; a testing period for those still covered by their sin (Isaiah 26:20-21). but He promised He would take His followers out of the way before it comes (Revelation 3:10). we will be taken to the safe places He has prepared for us.
the time is much sooner that you think! please turn to the Lord while there is still time, He loves you and has done EVERYTHING necessary to provide salvation for you. the Tribulation will be the worst time in human history, and God desires that no one go through it. listen to the still, small Voice that is calling you to repentance. He is calling you home!

as i listened to this song, i didn't receive the normal kinds of scenes that i see when planning a project. instead i saw flashes of Jesus' face in various situations and the things He has done. and i felt lead to use the work i've already completed to make this animatic, as even on their own, each piece was made in worship to Him.

Don't place your faith in the people of this world or man-made systems. all these things are flimsy and corrupt; they will fall apart. when leadership is vile and lands are at war, the only place of safety is in the Lord Jesus Christ.
His is the only One who truly loves us, watching and protecting in times of great trouble (when we feel it will never end). it's only through Him that we are saved. He saw we were on a doomed path and said: 'No, take Me in their place.'
He died for our sins and rose again on the third day, as proof that His payment of our debt is true. it is a free gift of eternal life to those who believe in Him, by the payment of our debt we couldn't pay. please humble yourself and turn to God while there's still time, before you are separated from Him forever.

i used to keep up with the MCU, and the most impactful scene to me was the origin of this music. near the end of "Guardians of the Galaxy" (2014), the protagonists are trapped on a crashing spacecraft. the tree character, Groot, realizes they're all going to die and decides to grow into a cocoon around them. despite knowing he isn't going to survive, he willingly gives his life to protect his family. the beauty of his musical theme (which is so different from any other character) and the nature of his sacrifice has always felt intrinsically Christian.
Jesus, the Son of God, is our Tree of Life. without Him we are headed toward destruction; our roots are rotting and our spirits are dead. but He knew this and loved us so much He willingly gave His life to save us from our eternal death. Christ's death saved us from death, and His resurrection brings us to life too! we are made whole by receiving His Holy Spirit; an everlasting seal of adoption. it's only by connecting to the true Vine that we will thrive eternally.
"And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God's Son does not have life." -1 John 5:11-12
