Fuck this job man, I sentenced this guy called Theseus to life in prison for murder and then I get a call from the prison that he has systematically replaced every organ in his body including his brain and is now claiming he is not the same person who committed the crime. They are letting him go free, fuck this. Worst of all is he also then took all of the parts that he discarded and made a second Theseus who is also claiming he did not commit the crime and they are also being let free. Now there's two of them out there and you just KNOW they are murdering people and then having gay sex. I fucking quit man...

Me, my wife, and my girlfriend all use linux, but have customized our machines in different ways. I am basically incapable of using either of their machines. It's not just about being a nerd but about what specific subspecies you are.

I gave up on QWERTY a bit over a year ago now and it's gotten me way more comfortable and faster with typing as well as clearing up some of my (probably strain related) wrist issues. I highly recommend looking into the alternatives if you're having issues with keyboard related stuff.

sometimes when there are two apparently unrelated events strongly correlated to each other the correlation can be explained by a third event that is directly related to the two correlated events. In this case "quitting LoL" and "starting to transition" appear unrelated at first glance but can be easily linked by a potential third event such as "installing linux"

why are so many people saying y+ for up is "from minecraft" or "minecraft's fault"? that's demonstrably historically false, minecraft didn't invent or popularize that convention

minecraft popularized it for 3d amongst the Youths. it was their first experience with a three-dimensional Cartesian system (idk if that word is used for 3d). the question has three axes so I feel like minecraft is going to be what influences most people here

honestly I think it's more abstract than that. If you're playing mostly first or third person games where "up" is generally at the top of your screen, while learning about cartesian planes, than your screen naturally forms a plane where +y is "up" and that sticks. If instead you play more top down games (RTS, most puzzle games, board games) "up" ends up being out of plane with the play surface (aka the z axis) and that's what sticks. So really it's the popularity of battle royales and decline of 2.5D RTS and mobas that's to blame for the increase in +y "up"ers.

The only "disease" that I know of in the pokemon universe would be the pokerus, it doesn't have any negative effects rather it increases the number of EVs you get, and how do you get EVs? Battling wild pokemon. So yes there is precedent for uncategorized microscopic pokemon infecting larger pokemon in the pokemon universe.
