some of my jegbert headcanons, in no particular order or continuity

-mouth breather in spring and fall due to seasonal allergies

-had those stupid sports goggle glasses as a kid

-extremely “um, ackthually 👆🤓” about video games. def was a triforce shirt + cargo shorts kid

-wears khakis because his dad thinks they make him look responsible

-really into like, bugs and (normal) salamanders and that kind of thing as a kid. probably what sparked the idea for the “biologist” part of ectobiologist as a username in the first place

-aside from all the movies already mentioned in homestuck, also really likes flubber, dodgeball, and airplane

-dad let him try a hit of his pipe once as a kid to teach him a lesson. It worked.

-has a midwest emo phase in high school that Dave makes fun of him for for the rest of time

-bisexual (duh)

-secretly used retcon powers to add Matthew McConaughey to the cast of Con Air to make it “the perfect movie.” Didn’t tell anyone and giggled over a great prank waiting for someone to noticed. Only slightly dejected when no one ever noticed (because, hey, Matthew McConaughey is still in Con Air now!)

my mutuals (especially those of you on the younger side) - if you see people trolling or harassing yourself or others online: block them, report them, and don’t interact further. they WANT you to be mad. they want you to keep responding to them. they like watching you get upset. their entire goal isn’t to bother you with their initial message - it’s to watch you get more and more upset as you keep trying to argue with them further.

you can make your own decisions of course, but keep it in mind.

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be apart of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.

I don’t normally reblog this kinda stuff but I bought (non-homestuck) glasses from Robert all the way back in 2019! Still have em, the quality is great, they came with tiny custom colored foam pads that he clearly hand-installed to make sure they were comfortable. I wear em for cosplay and to music festivals and raves, and I get SO MANY compliments on them.

Class act all around, show him some love if you’re ever in need of cosplay glasses.
