I have less to say about him than I do about my Dyle but that doesn't mean I don't find him interesting :')) Rodger ........ He's extremely cringefail and I truly love that for him I wouldn't have it any other way he's not my Rodger if he's not an abject loser with fraudulent aura

The biggest point of interest here, aside from the obvious lean towards old noir detective themes in his clothes and general demeanor, is that I opted to take one of his eyes out, in reference not just to the fact he's a cyclops in-game but specifically Flyte's dialogue with him warning him not to go poking in places if he isn't going to be ready for what he finds. As mentioned in my Dyle post as well, this is because Rodger is another toon that suffers from the "child's vision of an adult" paradigm — he simply doesn't quit, because he's a caricature of a dedicated detective that's supposed to inspire kids to be curious, develop critical thinking skills, and sniff out what's right and true. This makes him poke and prod and question where he's not supposed to and largely without much regard for himself or his own safety — so, in all likelihood, he already has gotten himself into such a sticky situation as Flyte describes at least once before, resulting in the loss of one of his eyes to punish his nosiness. It just didn't stop him. He's relentless; he's banned from talking to Dyle for a reason.

While he puts himself in harm's way, he simultaneously seems to have been written to keep that danger firmly focused on himself due to how he keeps Toodles out of his messes. This gives him the effect of acting like a fatherly and caring toon to others, in an analytical sort of way; he listens to their problems and takes measured, dutiful notes, such as in the case of Glisten crying to him about his insecurities. Like every toon, this caricature-like nature makes him a double-edged sword — while toons like Glisten can trust him wholeheartedly because they're not really the focus of his serious investigations, others like Astro and Flyte are extremely wary of what he might uncover in his unwavering dedication to his craft and try to steer him away.

Also I imagine the guy's got a staring problem. Eye off before you lose the other one !!!!
