Anne Hathaway living her best life at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival
and hilariously that is not why it is called that.
It is the circle of the bears cause of ursa major and ursa minor, and the circle without bears cause ya'know opposite part of the sky.
We lucked right into that one....
#so what youâre saying is#the stars dictate whether bears do or do not exist in places
Astrology is real but only for predicting where bears will be
Bears do not travel to places they cannot see their gods

i had a thought today like man, my ancestors would probably not approve very much of me being such an extravagant glutton, but then i was like wtf are u kidding. those dumbasses didnât live on a fuckin potato ass diet for no minimalism. they didnât do what they did, whatever the fuck it was, for me NOT to fucking eat my bodyweight in sashimi!!! they would be fucking ecstatic to see me making the most of my opportunities for plenty. they would be fucking cheering me on. every lice-covered cossack and illiterate serf and three-toothed yak herder in my lineage is with me in this restaurant, and they are going absolutely apeshit watching me try to fit an entire samosa in my mouth
i love this idea that the ancestors are following modern people around like a rappers yes-man as we eat food #âfucking superb you funky little descendantâ

Apple propaganda notwithstanding, the reason tower PCs are big isnât because theyâre outdated. The reason tower PCs are so bulky is because theyâre designed to be user serviceable. The case has lots of open space so your big, meaty hands can easily access all of the components, and everything is secured with friction-fit tabs and standard machine screws to minimise the need for specialised tools. A properly laid out tower PC is fully serviceable with a single Phillips-head screwdriver and no greater manual skill than your average Lego playset â heck, for some of the more modern case layouts you donât even need the screwdriver, unless youâre performing major surgery like a full motherboard replacement.
Like, think about who benefits from convincing you that a fully modular computing device that can be serviced and repaired with your bare hands and minimal technical skill is unfashionable.
It can seem daunting at first but it really is worth it to learn to build desktop computers.
Like a new apple desktop costs like $1500-$2000 and you get like 16gb of ram or less, barely any USB or hdmi ports, barely any storage in general, ect. Additionally its incredibly hard if not impossible to get into it and switch anything out if something breaks or if you just want better part.
Meanwhile my desktop pc maybe cost $900 all together and it has an awesome graphics card, 16gb of ram standard and can be updated myself in seconds if I want to, space for like 5 hard drives (I currently have a 2 terabyte HDD one installed as well as a smaller SSD for the OS), 10 USB ports, multiple hdmi ports, old VGA ports, and tons of other features you would have to pay an arm and a leg to get in a new pre-made pc if you could find them at all.
I do know that not everyone is gonna have the time or the resources but there are places you can go for help and tons of guides and forums on the internet where people can answer your questions, and at least on pcpartpicker.com they even have example builds where they list everything you need to buy along with guides for how to put it together. I really think if you can its worth learning cuz now that I know more about computers it seems ridiculous what Apple and Microsoft will charge for a pre-built pc that sucks ass and, at least in Appleâs case, canât be customized.
And thatâs not to even mention what a rip off laptops are these days. My windows laptop is barely two years old and it already hardly runs and thereâs literally nothing wrong with it. Meanwhile my fianceâs custom built desktop is like 4 years old and still runs like new. Itâs true people do need laptops, but you shouldnât have to rely on them. Learn to build and repair your stuff, its worth it. (And also in terms of tower PCs being big, if thatâs really an issue for you there are multiple sizes of towers, you can just get a small one and there are parts that will fit.)
I really want to emphasize the whole Lego set analogy when it comes to putting together PCs, itâs really not an exaggeration. PC parts and form factors are miraculously and remarkably standardized these days, and thereâs lots of helpful resources online to help you pick out parts, if it feels daunting! The site I usually recommend is pcpartpicker.com. Itâll even tell you if youâve selected incompatible parts!
https://pcpartpicker.com
Some of the smaller components take a little bit more dexterity, but magnetized screwdrivers and tweezers are cheap and go a long way. But it really is just a matter of plugging things into the right ports
Donât confuse my hatred of the hyperwealthy for jealousy over what they have. I donât want a six figure sports car, or a 40 room mansion, or a gold leaf truffle wagyu steak dinner. I want redistribution of wealth that allows for infrastructural support of all citizensâ basic survival needs.
while i completely agree with this statement, i feel like thereâs this disconnect between the common manâs desire to experience what life has to offer and the hyperwealthyâs desire to exploit the masses in order to hoard resources to the active detriment of others.
i want to experience driving a fancy sports car down a big open road, the top down and the wind blowing in my hair. i donât want a garage of 20 sports cars that i never touch.
i want a nice, comfortable, tastefully decorated house thatâs big enough for me, my family, my pets, my hobbies, and any friends i might want to invite over. i donât want a megmansion with more space than i could ever possibly use, that i only own because i want my house to be bigger than someone elseâs house.
i want to experience eating the best steak dinner that the culinary world can offer. i donât want to eat gold, which has literally no flavor, just because i can.
i want to travel to different cities around the world, see beautiful places, experience different cultures, and meet interesting people. i donât want to buy up swathes of land and push natives out so i can build my twelfth house in hawaii or greece or somewhere else iâll barely ever visit.
i want to dress in nice, well-made clothes that represent my style and make me feel good about myself. i donât want to carry a thirty thousand dollar handbag or rolex watch just because it costs thirty thousand dollars.
i want to be able to give my friends gifts, i want to be able to invest in causes that i believe in, i want to be able to buy myself things like books, art, electronics, theater tickets, and nice food without having to worry about how much it costs. i donât want to buy elections or shoot myself into space.
the average personâs concept of luxury is so far removed from the hyperwealthyâs everyday life that the distance cannot even be measured in ways that we can comprehend.
so while of course itâs more important that we work towards everyoneâs basic needs being met rather than achieving luxury for ourselves, you, an ordinary person, shouldnât feel guilty just for wanting to experience exciting and comfortable things. life should not be unyielding drudgery.

he is literally. the biggest ally.

My husband is playing DnD with some friends and told me to come look at the cat who is sitting in a chair like a person. My husband handed him a d20 and said âsir you have to roll a stealth check to convince the other party members you are a humanâ and the cat immediately batted the d20 and rolled a 14. The party cheered for him.
The final human player joined the table and they brought out a whole extra chair so the cat could remain at the table. Heâs now the partyâs official Druid and just canonically in wildshape all the time and therefore unable to speak Common.
