everybody is getting rabies shots
if there's a weird animal that seems sick, especially a bat, contact the DNR or your equivalent and see about testing. it's very unlikely the bat had rabies, but it was degraded enough that the results were inconclusive, as we do not have a safe means of storing a possibly infected bat.
if the results are inconclusive or positive, anyone who had contact with the animal should get rabies shots ASAP. ask your DNR or whoever connects you with testing about proper prophylactic measures.
