if theres one thing that really pissed me off from my 3 years of architecture i took in high school it's learning about how we used to have all these little techniques to maximize or minimize heat or warmth and now we just merrily abandoned all those to have the same copypaste style buildings everywhere that are often INCREDIBLY unoptimized to the local weather and climate so we can just throw more money at our heating and cooling bills
where i live it is hot as balls approximately 80% of the year. i do not want a massive butt-ugly grey mcmansion with a huge echoey open-concept kitchen-livingroom-foyer-diningroom-staircase that has huge windows so i can have an hvac unit the size of a barge heaving and straining to keep it at a constant 72 the grees. i want a north indian traditional style home with small windows to force the airflow to cool, decorative grates to limit the amount of sunlight, and a COURTYARD with a POND *smashes unspecified large object*
this is exactly why I love talking about historical passive heating and cooling techniques

while the Victorian house museum where I work, with thick walls and small windows and big wooden shutters stays ~10 degrees above (winter) or below (summer) the outside temperature for days on end with no help at all?

I went a little silly goofy with it and suddenly I have a whole cast of characters in this fanfiction, Baldur's Gate 3, Realm Reborn storyline I've concocted. My playthrough no longer entails simply my self-insert being shipped with Thancred :3 Also I've changed my self-insert's name ever so slightly so he can sort of stand on his own (I'm still gonna project hella hard onto him tho).

Disclaimer: I realised as I was making these characters that I enjoy names with apostrophes. I do indeed have 3 (1 not yet shown here) characters with apostrophes in their names. Is it accurate to the species' lore? I wouldn't know. Would low-key fit into their backstory if not though, so I'm pushing forward with it!
Gender-ambiguous Rabbits:
Twin Rava Viera, these two were separated at birth and lived very different lives, never learning certain information about their birth (birthdays, last names, etc). Thus, they were given new ones. They end up meeting through the Scions, and both end up being close friends with Y'shtola.
Fjol'ney Virash is an archer of Gridania with a power that awakens upon meeting two individuals calling themselves Scions of the Seventh Dawn. She has a pink and green colour palette cause I thought it was pretty.
Yg'reede Rehw-marouc is both a thaumaturge and pugilist of Ul'dah, though they're more experienced in magic. He also awakened a power within when she met a Scion. Her colour palette is based more off of the moon, with black and lavender.
Big Women:
Ahlbryda Moegrael Bloelakwyn is a Sea Wolf Roegadyn pugilist of Ul'dah, and good friend of Becq. She also knows of Yg'reede through their exploits after joining the pugilist's guild. I definitely did not design her with inspiration from Monkey D. Luffy (I'm lying). She does not have the Echo.
The Self-Insert:
Went real simple with it. Instead of Becquerel, his name is now Becqaran. That's all I did.

I also have a cat-girl I'm in the process of drawing. Her name is Yehn'ir Bajhiri, she's a shapeshifting Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te, and I ship her with Y'shtola :3 She's my "edgy rainbow feather dragon cat" of these ffxiv oc's pretty much. She's an arcanist of Limsa Lominsa, and her own powers awaken upon meeting a Scion as well. She, the bunny twins, and y'shtola become good friends.
isn't it insane though how schizophrenic people are viewed as violent and dangerous by the majority of society when in reality schizophrenic people are nearly 14 times more likely to be on the receiving end of violence than to be the perpetrators...
1) schizophrenia hardly ever causes people to be violent so schizophrenic people aren’t more likely to be violent than anyone else
2) schizophrenic people’s autonomy is often taken away from them because of their schizophrenia. because the authorities and mental healthcare providers often automatically assume schizophrenic people to be violent, they’re more likely to immediately react to schizophrenic people's symptoms with violence, without even knowing for sure said schizophrenic person was going to be violent. all of this causes schizophrenic people to be more likely of being victims of violence and abuse. schizophrenic people also have a harder time getting out of abusive households because of the risk of their autonomy being taken away. if a schizophrenic person’s relative or partner is abusive, often the schizophrenic person has no way out of the situation, both because our disconnect from reality can result in us being easier to manipulate, and because the system is built in a way that it takes away our autonomy because of our condition.
also schizophrenic people and psychotic people in general, please do a lot of research before picking a provider for your own sake, and if they try to treat your psychosis in a way that you think is harmful then don’t hesitate to switch providers. your safety and wellbeing should be a priority over everything else.

I tried drawing random animals from memory in 2 minutes (based on a spilled ink video) but at the elephant I realised I'm really not good at it :'D
