when you’ve figured out a man and his deceptive ways, or finally able to accept he never truly cared, stop yourself from wanting to have that “gotcha” confrontation with him
you don’t need to prove how smart you are and how dumb he is because asyouve figured out, he doesn’t care. coming at him is just more fuel for him because toxic men love seeing you hurt.
it’s like, if an ugly man twice your age comes to you after some time you’ve together saying “you’re just using me for money, you don’t care about me” - and it’s like yes, and? Sky is blue
telling a man “you’re abusive!” Or “I see through you” will have the same result and it also just gives him a chance to gaslight you. Anytime you explain yourself to people is a chance for people to make you doubt yourself, that’s why you make decisions quietly (decide he is a loser who doesn’t deserve u or any explanations and leave).
indifference or pretending to be indifferent in the face of toxic people is chic, especially if you just quietly walk away
this applies to any toxic people, including family
with family it’s harder because we naturally want their validation but they will never give it to you so don’t waste your breath explaining to them how they ruined your childhood or what your therapist said lol just create distance and let all these undiagnosed and unmedicated people spiral on their own because they no longer have supply (you) to scapegoat, assert power over, and feed off of
