I don't have a professional photog as a husband, I don't pose my children for "perfect" photos, I didn't finish my bachelors degree, my kids are jerks half of the time, I'm not constantly trying to sell people on things I don't actually use myself, and I don't live in a big house with a perfect view. I'm 34 with a divorce under my belt after a 10 year marriage, a close friendship with that ex, a string of bad relationships and terrible decisions, 3 amazing daughters that make me crazy and give me joy, a boyfriend that makes me wonder what I did to deserve him, and I have a tiny bank account that barely pays for my tiny apartment in a tiny town. Do I love my life? Not all the time. Do I regret my decisions? Most of the time. Do I sit and cry about it? You betcha. We are all human and we are all on this ball of rock and water together. Rather than putting out only the good parts, we have a responsibility to ourselves, our children, and the people that watch us on YouTube or other social media to put the uncomfortable stuff out there too. Show the real things. Talk about reality. Show other moms and dads that they aren't alone. Give them hope by working towards overcoming your trials and showing the progress. People don't need fake perfection. People need real. I have always tried to be honest with my subscribers and followers. If I'm having a bad day, I'm gonna share it. If I have a good one, I share that too. I don't hide my shortcomings, I embrace them and try to find ways to move beyond them. I constantly strive to better myself as a mom, a writer, a citizen of the US, and as a human on this weird and exciting rock hurtling through space. I love you all. I can't say I won't or haven't screwed up, but I will ALWAYS be me. I refuse to water myself down or censor my opinions anymore. I've done that for far too long and I am so sorry for that.
