IWTVL S3 Ep4 Musings - Apology Tours (RANT)

This episode--heck, this whole season--is really good at stressing me out, testing my patience for childishness, and my tolerance for immature bullcrap from grown frikkin adults WAAAAY too long in the tooth fang to still be acting like petty kids, then having the nerve to cry about how no one likes them.

I know AMC was tryna make Armand look cheesy & pathetic with his 12 Steps program, but NGL even though it's scripted, performative & fake AF, I actually liked Armand's behavior in 3x4 WAY more than LESTAT's ridiculous behavior this whole effing season.

His antics look fresh out of a cartoon slapstick sketch comedy show, but the bad ones where I'm not laughing at any of the "jokes". So IDK if I should cuss out or commend the writers for just how little home training this 250yo got from this wretched crone of a "mother". Cuz yeah, it makes sense that Lestat's STILL acting like a toxic b*tchy anxiously-attached show pony with a personality disorder and sociopathic tendencies 2+ human lifetimes later; no character growth whatsoever; just another spin cycle in the coin op dryer. 🤔

Like, I get it. The whole point of this season is clearly that neither Louis with Bruce/Regina nor Lestat with everyone are handling their grief over Claudia's death well at all; and that they're BOTH falling back into terrible old habits that bring neither of them any relief.

But it's SO interesting how everyone's got nothing but ungracious insensitive unempathetic unsympathetic nastiness for LOUIS for:

killing his daughter's LITERAL RAPIST (I didn't see LESDAUGHTER LESTAT going after Bruce 🙄😒)

shoving his daughter's LITERAL MURDERER thru a stone wall & ghosting TF out of him (I haven't seen LESDAUGHTER LESTAT scrap with Armand once 🙄😒)

ghosting TF out of the man who went behind his back and published a book full of lies said murderer told them both (I haven't seen LESDAUGHTER LESTAT kick Daniel off his tour bus yet 🙄😒)

ghosting TF out of the ex-husband Louis thought knowingly & deliberately participated in said murderer's rigged Trial that got Louis lynched & Claudia burned alive (I haven't seen LESDAUGHTER LESTAT say her name once 🙄😒)

Everyone's pissed at Louis for not telling Lestat about the book coming out, but no one's pissed at Lestat for not telling Louis about the Trial?! That Louis STILL has no idea about WHY Lestat was even there in 2025!?

Everyone was pissed that Louis had the NERVE to leave Lestat to rot in the Sad Shack after the Reunion Scene they all swore was fake cuz Louis couldn't POSSIBLY treat his Companion Heart like that~! 😩 But no one's pissed at Lestat for leaving Louis WITH THEIR DAUGHTER'S MURDERER and not putting Armand on blast 77 years ago as soon as he realized that Louis had no clue wtf he was talking about and that Armand must've lied to him?!

And now I'm supposed to feel SORRY for Lestat just cuz he was standing around in a rotten bathrobe with a bloody wooden plank; when HE is the one who "CHOSE to spend the later half of the 20th century" in self-imposed exile rather than TELLING Louis the TRUTH?! 🤨

Lestat CHOSE to go on tour slandering Louis' name over a book DANIEL wrote, when he KNOWS that Louis still doesn't know the truth that LESTAT DELIBERATELY WITHHELD?! AGAIN?! 🤦‍♂️

And y'all expect me to GAF about this idiot just cuz he cries everyday about his mommy issues?! 🤣 TF?! 😂

TL;DR: NGL Imma need these childish diss tracks to END already. 🙏

Yes, I get it, Louis expresses himself thru the written word, so ofc if he's angry at someone they're getting blasted in a book. Lestat expresses himself thru music, so ofc if he's angry at someone they're getting blasted over the radio.

But how does Lestat expect ARMAND to respond to being publicly humiliated/goaded? 🤔

TBH it's giving Drake vs Lebron/D-Rose--or worse, it's giving The Boondocks! 🤦‍♂️ Armand's not finna hop in the booth like Granddad vs Thugnificent! 🤣 Or rather, Lestat better PRAY Armand doesn't clap back like Granddad did! 👀😭💀

Cuz I already said I fully expect Daniel to spill all kinds of rancid tea about Lestat as payback for publicly tricking/humiliating/goading him over that Nicki interview. 😬 So with Armand, heck only knows what Maitre might do in retaliation if the bear's been poked too many times.

And at this point, whatever happens to Lestat he brought upon himself.

I'd hoped that midway thru the season we'd've started seeing Lestat try to IMPROVE himself by now; and actually TRY to make amends and get to the bottom of everything that had been going so wrong in his life.

In 3x1 he made a whole big deal about Black Licorice being the catalyst for awakening his muses and making him realize that he'd been treating his band like crap. Then he goes and sends telepathic death threats to Alex to get him to not go to the cops--cops we literally SEE him Mind Gift into obedience btw.

In 3x2 he's meeting with Louis & their lawyers, and rather than staying on topic, he decides to rehash the book, and has the NERVE to reprimand Louis for NOT having sex with Santiago & instead having a home with the KNOWN MURDERER he GAVE Louis to WTF? 😡💢

In 3x3 he's deflecting every jab Daniel makes to remind him that all of his songs are about Louis living rent free in his head--Black Licorice is about Louis' peen, Long Face is about Louis face, etc etc oo oo wah ah he's just mad that Louis' not around to lick his wounds and breastfeed him and nuzzle his erection like his mommy does. 🫢 Or rather--Lestat's mad that Louis WILL leave him on read for years on end, just like his mommy does. 🫢

And now in 3x4 he's goading TF out of KNOWN MURDERER Armand over mess that LESTAT willfully participated in--and I'm not even talking about the Trial yet, LOL! 🤦‍♂️I BEEN said that this whoooooole story would've NEVER happened if Lestat had opened his useless effing mouth in NOLA and warned Louis & Claudia about Armand from the get-go. And now he's proven my point AGAIN, by revealing that he deliberately kept his mouth shut about Armand even when he KNEW Louis was walking into a saw trap that would only make his trauma & mental illness & grief WORSE omfg Lestat needs to GTFO my face before I snatch him clean baldheaded.

I need Akasha to hurry up and get here, cuz I'm SWIFTLY losing all interest in Lestat as a person JFC; I've heard enough.

EDIT: Don't believe the Milev*n propaganda. The point is NOT whether one should be concerned for Angela; it's that Mike showed concern for her WHILE SHOWING NONE FOR EL AFTER ANGELA HAD PUBLICLY BULLIED HER AND DROVE HER TO DO IT. I'm a bit flabbergasted that some BYLERS are falling for it.

Imagine if Byler were canon and Will were in this situation. He gets publicly gay bashed, and he goes back and hits the lead bully with the roller skate. Mike immediately runs over and yells at Will "What did you do!?!?!?!?!?" And when everyone gathers around Mike refuses to be associated with him. Mike doesn't talk to him, making him feel more like a pariah: "Why won't my own boyfriend talk to me? I just went through something traumatic and he has nothing to say?"
