Yes, this was inspired by Romeo and Juliet… I always loved to imagine that between the Silver Millennium and the present they probably had many other reincarnations where their love was always forbidden and destined to end badly for one reason or another. The first 3 movies were so good, Kenshin propposing to Kaoru in The Legend Ends was so spot on chemistry and then there chemistry it went downhill in the final
Listen, I know how you feel, it’s the same way for me. Here‘s the thing, their chemistry went downhill because Takeru has change his perspective on Emi.
Yes that is the tea ladies and gentlemen.
It bugs me that many of their interviews together, Takeru would shove it to Emi’s face that she is now married and a mother. There was even an interview that he said he felt nervous to see her again becuase of that. I believe in a way he does not see her as his “Kaoru” anymore. Like dude stop it with “your now married and a mother”, it’s Emi not Kaoru the character If your salty about it. But I believe his acting with kaoru affected this.
He is also insecure that he is the only one not married of all the Kenshin-gumi cast (emi, aoi, Munetaka).
The script writing was also bad with their recycled action scenes. Overall it is not only Kenshin and Kaoru that suffered here, the whole amazing characters did Except for Enishi.
Arata Mackenyu did phenomenal and he carried the whole entire final movie, I can’t believe his back did not break from that awful movie.
Glad to know I' not alone in feeling this way.

I actually made a doujin *gasspppp*!!
This took far longer than I anticipated, but I thoroughly enjoyed the process. I have newfound respect for mangakas, because truly every panel is a work of art made with every bit of love and care as deserving of standalone pieces.
Done in Photoshop, almost entirely by hand (tablet), with only two custom brushes. If I’d known better I would have used something like MediBang Paint which actually has screen tones. Maybe next time.

I've been craving for a good e/k fanfic, but i think i've read all that there is on ao3 and ff.net..i reread some faves while waiting for new updates.still, there's none..so i decided to go and read k/k, my first otp (back when i didn't know e/k ship existed 😅)..and then i felt that old feeling again..being in love with my "ex otp"..may be it's partly because of the rk live action actors, takeru x emi, (i like them so much)..that's why i'm not so keen on watching the latest rkla, the beginning..i get so jealous that tomoe (kasumi) gets so intimate with kenshin...😭😫
