So, a while ago I may have accidentally deleted my arch partition and basically factory reset my computer...
I just wanted to post a hyfetch screenshot for pride, but didn't particularly like how the flags look on the arch logo. I'd previously installed voidlinux, so decided to see what my options would look like there. I guess at some point I'd messed up my void, and when I reinstalled it I forgor to make sure I was using the right partition.
TL;DR: bye bye everything on my arch partition!! =|:o
The silver lining: I kinda wanted to distro hop again anyways!
Void got me into this mess, so I figured it'd have to get me out as well (also I wanted to see what it's like, ofc). And also nixos is here because I thought I might as well revisit after my "arch, btw" break.
I am now regretting that decision because I forgot how annoying it is to setup nixos, and it doesn't play very well with other distros!! I've had to fix grub more times than I care for this past week... >:r

As you can see, I'm trying out fish as my shell + going back to foot as a terminal (I was using zsh and ghostty). I kinda wanted to use niri instead of sway, but I just really like swaywm I think, lol.
So far, voidlinux has actually been really enjoyable! Obviously a lot like arch, but I think xbps is much simpler to use; particularly, I find myself reaching for xbps-query where I would've defaulted to a browser for arch packages.
So I guess that's what I've been up to lately.
here's another idea for a poll! and by the way, posting a single thing against ToS isn't supposed to be grounds for deletion, (this is what the termination email is warning you about)

A South Carolina jury on Monday found a store owner not guilty of murder in the 2023 shooting of a Black 14-year-old.
apparently the murder happened in 2023 after doing some research but the murderer has been found not guilty.
black children get murdered and become victims of hate crimes every fucking day. this is ridiculous
im posting this here despite the website being extremely white centered, I want people to understand how in this country it's basically ok to murder and victimize black people, especially women and children in the name of "self defense" and white America will reward you for your antiblackness.

this took SUCH a huge deal of unlearning because, like so many of you, i came out of a home where being quietly in trouble WAS the default state, and i DID grow up not just with the assumption but borderline religious conviction that Everyone Is Mad At Me, I Am Bad, I Must Exist In A Constant State of Attempting to Pacify The Natural Rage I Inspire In Everyone. and no it actually turns out that my family are the freaks . and yours are too

I guess in a lot of ways it just feels less like we're celebrating me, and more like we're celebrating John.
Like, I'm not John!! I'm similar, sure, but there's a pretty big and important difference that I think recontextualizes a lot.

God, I hate how people get upset over "misgendering" dead cis people.
I'm talking specifically about how many otherwise-"woke" people will get up in arms about any idea of kurt cobain being transfem, but this also applies generally; another example people talk about: transmascs who lived as men to fight in wars, and just kept doing that "for some reason"... etc.
Thinking that calling kurt cobain a closeted transfem is somehow abhorrent or regressive or "best not to speculate" or "he used he/him, so respect his wishes" displays what I feel like is an almost fundamental ignorance of transphobia, trans people, etc..
AND KURT COBAIN IS DEAD, ANYWAY!
