i really do think the boxes of Good People and Bad People are rotted through and through. thats not how that works, at all. calling yourself an Objectively Good Person separates yourself from any negative or harmful action you could ever take- after all, you would never! youre a good person!
on the other side, the box of Bad Person removes the chance for ACCOUNTABILITY, which is. the fucking Point. it designates a person or an entire group of people as subhuman, incapable of change, and once again takes the importance away from ACTIONS and DECISIONS.
as an example, you cannot Kill All Racists because you are racist. you Just Are. you, yes you, do racist things all the fuckin time by complete accident. and i would say you are deserving of the chance to take accountability and make better decisions. Good Person, Bad Person, thats fake. its bullshit. it tells me nothing about Your Actions and Decisions.
if someone continues to make racist decisions, you dont stick them into the box of Bad Person and call it a day. theyre not a sim. they dont have the character trait of Racist. they have FREE WILL. this free will CAN BE USED TO MAKE BETTER DECISIONS. its not my job as a person of color to make sure it happens, thats the whiteys job, but it CAN HAPPEN REGARDLESS. and then what? did that person become good? where is the line? who gets to define that? Good Person and Bad Person is not a useful or productive framework to define complex human beings who make thousands of decisions a day!
you are not Good. you are not Bad. you are just a person.
