Roo's Name
There is a theory I'm sure everyone and their brother knows about how Roo's name is short for the root of all evil. Well I personally don't believe that theory and I wanted to share what my theory about her name is.
I think the reason Roo's name is Roo is because of a character named Izzi. If you don't know Izzi is an old villain from Zoophobia and appeared in the addict music video.
Not much was known about him Zoophobia other than he was a demon hunter and a generally unpleasant person being a master of games of sorts and an instigator and self-proclaimed father of a few Zoophobia's villains.
Now back in 2019 viv made a music video for the song Addict by Silva Hound that featured Izzi. He was in a couple of scenes during Cherri Bomb's part of the song.
He seems to be some sort of ex boyfriend of Cherri's endplays a big role in her story. As viv stated back in the Australia Wildfire Stream that the reason that Cherri is Australian as Viv realized it would make sense for Cherri to be Australian since there was a character that was a part of her story that was already Australian. And since Izzi was always intended to be Australian he was clearly the character she was referring to.
Now I bring all of this up as Roo's name is actually slang in Australia for Kangaroo. This is important to note when you have a character who was a hunter and generally unpleasant. And the fact that Roo has chains on her arms and neck like an animal. I think Roo is someone that Izzi is hunting down and he calls her Roo as a way to dehumanize her but also because she's one of the few demons that escaped him and is constantly on the run from him and Kangaroos are known for their speed and strength.
Even if Izzi didn't name Roo I definitely think there's a connection between the two. There are many similarities with their designs. They both have similar hats and have trench coats, they both have (or at least had in Izzi's case) chains around their necks all the time not just in certain situations like Husk and Angel, and they both have white color scheme that's is ruined by corruption. Izzi being covered in either dirt or blood depending on which design you're looking at. Their tongues are also different from others with roos being a mass of tentacles and teeth and Izzi's being barbed wire.
Any ways that's my theory and I have a lot more Roo theories coming.
See my theories here and here
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! 😊
I had no idea, but now I’m sure there is a connection!!
I know this is gonna be a creepy and uncomfortable fact..But I noticed How much I’m worried for Lute’s mental state. Which is why I hope Everyone in show has some sort of Safe and the Only Unrepentant character is The root of All evil herself, even if Embodied as someone “Sweet” and “Kind” someone like Charlie..
Going back to This Post.
We haven’t seen Izzi, and he does fit the Good option, because Now I wonder if The Plot twist if Cherri met this person In Hell and she sang about a man with “Money and power” which sounded similar to Jax the ripper. Which it he sooo interesting if Izz = Jack as dumb as that is, but the Idea that Cherri was with the man that was Sir Pentious Mortal enemy is So fascinating and Angsty if he comes back and puts her in trouble.
Now, Lute is the only person I’m scared is showing the signs of unrepentence and So I hope she’s a normal villain that Maybe Teams up with Velvette at the beginning of season 4..
And Lilith is one I’m scared about because might I add, she’s worse than Lute sort of by far. She ate babies and killed them in the mother’s womb. So she is far from innocent either. One can say if she’s the irredeemable one, that makes so much sense because she’s the only one who REALLY is a symbol of Unreptence, because she’s essentially the only thing close to a PEDOPHILE and Baby eater in that disgusting Way. But I don’t think that’s where they wanna go.
I can only hope she’s a good Mom despite flaws and I can only hope Lute is Still given the chance to repent and be a Paul figure (who killed Christian’s and then became on, where she hates sinners and ends up loving them) one theory of mine is she just sees Vox break down and loose his Mind, and starts to feel sympathy for him, that gives her repentance.
Because the scary Fact is ..
By Theory with Christian Standards of this universe, The only Sin God can’t forgive is The Blasphmy of the Holy Spirit. Aka.. unrepentant of a sin. Or Unrepetenance.
Essentially , Lute is dangling by a wire and unless she repents, Roo is gonna swallow her whole
This is why I can only hope I’m right because Izzi can be all of that
He can be Bloodthrirsty, pedo, baby eater/cannibal, he can be Greedy and Hate sinners, and all of that matching very close to roo.
Because if Roo is indeed the root of all evil, she needs a vessel of someone who is already that, not showing any signs of chances or guilt (at least sincere ones) or Care for anyone (almost everyone, even the Vees have friends and songs, that too can differentiate him from anyone) because that’s how true heartless people that are unrepentant are
The best part of Jack the Ripper in this universe being the Main Villain in this?..
He’s basied off of a Real person and so the scary Message that is true is sometimes cartoon character redeem themselves in ways REAL LIFE people tend not too :(
It’s both a heartbreaking warning and a beautiful tale of redemption in my book.

A lot of people like the Rosie is lilith/roo/eve theories but my favorite is the Rosie Morningstar theory (essentially Rosie being part of the morningstars in someway. Eg, being Lucifer's daughter or sister)
My favorite interpretation of this theory is that she's Charlie's half sister being the daughter of Eve and Lucifer or either she just happens to be her sister lilith and Luo haven't discusse or told Charlie about for some reason.
I won't deny that the evidence for these theories aren't as supported as other ones and is probably the least plausible (but then again rose quartz from Su) but it's still my favorite because I can imagine all the Elsa and Anna shit people could do with Charlie and Rosie together if it's true
*slides right by you*
Namaah. She’s the second Lilith (whose said to be her sister too) So she’s technically is Charlie’s Aunt and another human turned demon like Her!!!
She has her brother too!! His name is Tubal-Caine
Sneak Peek Part 2 Electric Boogaloo but I actually give you guys a peek at a full standee I'd like to release!
My headcanon for Lilith in my AU is that she is both Demisexual and Sapiosexual (which has two alternative colored flags).
Enjoy, loves!
Mind If I take this? This is interesting. :3
The idea that she Loved Lucifer over Adam because he actually had brains is very amusing to me.
My collaboration to The Vees Behind The Scenes Zine @veeszine
It is titled All-nighter. I imagine our favorite villains do have to go through some work-related all-nighters here and there to resolve company stuff.
I headcanon they always meet at Val’s part of the penthouse (cuz it is the comfiest) and they always order take out. Falling asleep on Val is a common occurrence too.
It was an honor to participate in this Zine working alongside so many talented artists who truly love this villainous trio 📱📺🦋
Thank you so much! 🫶🏼💞
Holy shit… Okay For context, I learned this recently and it’s made me kinda sad. But I’m fine now. So can I just say..
Say what you want about Hazbin..
But WTFFFFFFF
The fact that we have Angel dust, a written to be Opioid Drug addict and his best friend Cherri Bomb too, highly likely..
Can we praise Vivziepop for just writing them because we’re in the middle of a opioid Crisis???
Can we just be so proud of her talking about it in her show?? Also the fact the Vees are said to he and I known from day one, eating disorders were HUGHLY deadly in cases and not talked about.
Espieclaly as my friend (though non-mutual at the moment) @roodles03 mentioned (shout out to them) , especially in the case of Men, like where are my studies?? But OMG.
(Edit) Also, this isn’t like, I know I’m sure it’s handled better and whatnot, but emphasis on the whole ANGEL DUST thing. Like no joke, the point of it is absolutely opioids. And don’t even get me started that, like I would suspect, it probably does more than kills dinners. I believe they’re made out of the ashes of angels in general (or at least in my headcanons) and became way more TERRIBLE after the extermination took place in that universe. Like let’s be fr.
Alastor's Original Plan in S2: 'Royal Flush'
(S4 Theory + bonus: analysis through the lens of African Diaspora spirituality)
The thing that got this theory brewing is the fact that deer antlers have a protective coating called 'velvet'. That was the pre-canon spelling of Velvette's name for a while, and given that pretty random and nonsensical scene implying that RadioDoll had been hanging out, I couldn't bring myself to ignore it.
Since it's been said that Velvette is the main Vee of season 4, following my theory about Valentino's story in season 3, I think this is how she could end up there, by being Alastor's 'velvet' – his real "ace in the hole":
Also they put Velvette in a reindeer outfit for the first Christmas merch thing. I forgot to say that in the part about velvet antlers. Like I get it’s Christmas but like… isn’t that interesting. Mind you, nobody else is dressed as a deer (unless u count Angel’s pet, but like. Please.) They could’ve gone elf if StaticMoth are meant to be Santa & Mrs Claus right? Made Kitty or Velvette a snowman? Or just done festive vibes like the other characters? But they chose reindeer. Mmhmmmmmmm
OH, I FORGOT. NIFFTY ALSO CALLS ALASTOR "King of Roaches".
KING ALASTOR IS VERY MUCH A THING.
It's alreadyyyyy a thing.

I'm not saying Vox should be flipped upside down so he'd chill out, but I am saying he should be flipped upside down so he'd chill out.
Not so Fun fact: Orca Whales know this about sharks, and will purposely flip Sharks upside down, (Including large adult female Great White Sharks!!) to force this state onto them, and then they fucking rip out their livers to eat and just leave the shark to rot.
Use this info to your heart's content to make this idea as angsty as you wish!
Thanks. I might need that because I forgot how many enemies I gave Vincent. Lol, only 1 is Irredeemable and 1 is just straight up a Terrible enabler lol.
“we need more complex female characters-“ y‘all can’t handle. like. Charlie Morningstar
People can't handle Rose Quartz, can't handle Spinel, can't handle Gangle, can't handle Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, can't handle Pomni, can't handle Elsa, Anna, Alma, Isabella, Gangle, can't even handle FUCKING RAGATHA??
Like I'm not even a fan of how Charlie was handled at all but I cannot deny they accomplished her intention to be a complicated female character that was meant to divide the audience. I don't like how she was executed compared to how other complicated female characters have been executed, but she is overhated and is overhated to the point of most of it being misogyny and not actual criticism about how she was handled and how it could've been handled better.
If someone can't even handle Ragatha, I do not trust their word on any female character. Ever.
HAHA See?? It’s what I call Hycprocrisy, sexism, perfection, narcissism, and literally every fucking thing you can talk about. People only say crap because they’re losers and they wanna start a fight. Again, I believe everyone had a right to criticize whatever the hell they want, you know? It’s better for everyone if you are geninuely interested?? But you need to harass someone or just be unpleasant, I don’t think you have a right to talk. Because if you’re feeling a type of way honey, Ah ah. It’s none my business, it’s not anyone else’s. You needa work on yourself and deal it with yourself. Simple think before you speak.
People are doing it on purpose, all because their afraid to look at themelves and reflect, reflect in their minds and hearts and hey, maybe get off the screen and talk to family and friends who love you? Make new family and friends who will love you??
Believe me, it’s worth it. There truly is no rest for the wicked and I don’t think anyone with an ounce of integrity would wanna fuck and around and find out what that entails or where that can lead when taken too far.
when alastor dropped outta the fucking sky with THAT i burst out laughing so loud bro you have no idea
I cannot emphasize how this gets me everytime WHY😵💫🥹
"Vox acts like a white man from the 50s!" "Of course Vox did that, he's a white man from the 50s."
Genuine question, what do y'all think the 50s were like?
Because whenever I see these takes, or read fics with that tag, it always feels like a very modern perspective on the topic. People will pick apart a dozen little things Vox does or says as evidence of how bigoted he is, and bring up how he's from the 50s like it's the ultimate condemnation of his behavior. And sure, his time period is where he would have learned those attitudes, but like.
If you compare Vox's behavior in modern-day canon with actual 50s-level bigotry. And you assume he held opinions typical of his era while he was alive. He's um. He's pretty progressive.
Let's talk about it!
To start, racial segregation was still a thing in the 50s. The Civil Rights Movement started in the middle of the decade, but according to the Wiki, Vox died before that. So if he still had a 50s mindset, he would at best think it beneath him to work alongside, or even in proximity with, anyone from another race. The other end of the spectrum is racially motivated violence and murder. Given he was a literal serial killer, it's entirely possible that he was on that end of the spectrum, but given his motive for killing was personal advancement, it's also possible that he wouldn't have bothered. We have no evidence one way or the other.
In any event, Vox obviously does not require his partners (business or otherwise) to be white. He has not required it for at least a few decades, and he might not have ever required it, at least in Hell. Because the first guy he tried to partner with, whom he spent years getting close to and considered a friend, and even fell in love with, is Black Creole. And while it's possible he didn't know that, I'd argue that if race was a dealbreaker, he would have made a point of finding out. So he either didn't know and didn't care, or did know and didn't care.
Not caring isn't the same as not being racist, of course, and given his multiple transgressions in the present (both accidental and deliberate), he probably "didn't care" in the most offensive way possible. But he's spent decades working with Valentino, who's perfectly willing to scold and throw things at him when he crosses a line, and there's no way that partnership would have lasted if Vox refused to change. Given that he's had a lot of screentime and only been racist three times, he seems pretty teachable.
Still racist? Yes. 50s-era levels of racism? Not remotely.
So how about the misogyny, then? In the 50s, women pretty much couldn't do anything without their husbands' permission. Legally they could do things like open bank accounts and own property, but with no laws to prevent discrimination, men could simply refuse to do business with or employ women. Socially, women were expected to be passive, modest caregivers who put others before themselves. So as a man from the 50s, Vox presumably wants the women around him to be obedient doormats who cater to his every whim, yes?
Well, he and Velvette are introduced with her ordering him to come deal with his boyfriend. He does as asked without argument or reprimand, and while he's annoyed, it's not her fault and he doesn't take it out on her. He also never tells her how to do her job, or offers help she doesn't need, or even gives her unsolicited advice. She is his business partner, whom he chose to work with of his own volition, and he treats her as such.
He does expect obedience from Katie Killjoy (an employee, whose soul he probably owns), and as her boss, he also expects her to do her work to his liking. She also spends half their interaction sexually harassing him. And beyond his initial rejection, he never says a word to stop her, even though he clearly doesn't like it. He just kind of puts up with it.
Vox is by no means a pushover, but his social boundaries are. Not good.
Anyway, there is nothing 50s about the way he interacts with women.
Of course, no discussion about gender roles is complete without the other side of the coin. 50s men were expected to be restrained, self-reliant providers and protectors. Emotional displays (including anger, when in public) were considered weakness. Caregiving was unmanly. And now we're talking about Vox himself, so as a man from the 50s, he should be doing his damndest to live up to these ideals, right?
Let's see. He can be self-reliant, but he doesn't want to be, so cross that off the list. He can be emotionally reserved, but he usually shows his emotions in private, even if he doesn't act on them, and his public persona is more upbeat and energetic than stoic. So cross that off. He goes out of his way to make sure Valentino eats, and expresses concern about him not eating, which would fall under caregiving. Cross that off. The Vees all have jobs, which makes their income a collaborative effort, so he's not the sole provider for his family unit either.
The only box he really ticks, at least from the above list, is "protective". And given how quickly he reacts when the other Vees are threatened, I'm confident in saying he's protective because he is, not because it's expected of him. That's a score of... 1/5. So Vox does not particularly embody the 50s ideal of masculinity. In fact, by those standards, he is a complete and utter failure: weak, overly feminine, and frankly pathetic.
Hmmmm.
So! In conclusion:
"Vox acts like a white man from the 50s!"
Fucking HOW?
I kinda wanna add to this on my main,so here goes.
My own materal grandparents are still MAGAs and are way more racist then Vox (so far at the very least, we may see more.) they were both BORN in 1949. Early baby boomers. They're approaching the age of 80. And I've been told a lot of stories about their parents, they were even worse. Especially my Grandfather's mother, because Jesus Christ... She was just openly and proudly racist not only against black and brown people, but also other white people based on nationality. She especially hated german americans, british americans, and especially Italiain americans. The craziest part is she was Irish American. The Irish were treated the worst for europeqn americans.
You gotta remember she is the generation that grew up in the great depression and a lot of European immigrants had been coming to American because of the world wars in her time. And to phrase it as understandably as possible in a modern lens, this was the period where nationality was also seen as someone's race. (It wasn't exactly a one to one thing but again easiest way to explain it).
Certain European American groups were treated EXTREMELY badly as recently at the fucking 1980s, so the fact that she was as racist as she was as an irish woman to OTHER european americans was kinda nuts. If you looked up real political propaganda of Irish immigrants back then no one would blame you for mistaking it as shit made by Jim Crow. The Italians and Germans did not faire much better. If you've ever wondered why most americans of european descent, even if they are 1st or 2nd generation, don't know their European language, the incredibly harsh treatment encouraged the european immigrants to completely conform to white american evangelical life and the language was often lost by the 2nd generation, sometimes even the 1st.
One of the reasons probation was even able to pass was because anti-german sentiment exploded during WWI to the point where Americans began renaming german food (I.E. Liberty Cabbage) began harrassing and even killing german americans in the street, fired germans from jobs and blacklisted them from work, and even began fucking mass killing dogs that originated from germany. (America has always been this way unfortunately.) And since Germans were the biggest brewers in the states, being pro alcohol became directly tied to the belief of being pro-german... So yeah not a fun time for German americans. That that was WWI.
One of the biggest reasons Germans Italians and the Irish were so hated back then was because they were far more likely to be catholic, especially the Irish. I'm giving all this context to really explain just how brutal american zionism and racism was back then because even being white in the modern lens wasn't enough to exempt you from this shit.
And obviously being BIPOC during this time made this shit 10 times worse.
I've been told that my mom's dad's mom was a very strict, judgemental, emotionally abusive and neglectful woman, everything needed to be done her way and everyone had to follow her rules even by the time my mom and aunt were born. She was a very very strict hardline Catholic, and she wanted my grandfather to either marry an irish woman, or marry white person who had been around since the 1600s, so my grandmother being an unaffiliated protestant woman was such a huge problem for her that she refused to let them marry unless my grandmother CONVERTED to Catholicism AND rose her kids to be catholic. Fyi, only the latter part of that is actually what is demanded for Catholics who marry outside the religion, your spouse DOES NOT have to convert. She forced that on my grandparents.
The moment she died literally everyone was like "Alright fuck this shit," and they stopped going to church, my grandmother converted back to being an unaffiliated Protestant, and they gave my mom and my aunt the option to choose what they beileved in.
So this experience weirdly shaped my grandparents to NOT be zionistic to other white-europeans, and they were at least tolerant to other religions. They actually became not only tolerant but strong jewish allies. They even were fine with my aunt marrying a middle eastern jewish man, they were far less favorable towards Muslims, though. And then 9/11 happened... good god. After 9/11 They became very anti-mulism and openly zionist. It is so stupid because like after 9/11 my jewish side of the family have had to face both anti-semitism and zionism because people just look at the color of their skin and immediately assume one or the other. So being either fucks over both?? Not to mention that all 3 of my family members who could've been survivors or god forbid could've died on 9/11 were all jewish members of the family.
I've learned that oftentimes the logic of racist and biggoted people just makes no goddamn sense. Like my grandparents have only become more racist and are straight up pro-isreal to the point where my actual jewish family doesn't feel safe telling them "Hey listen just because we're jewish doesn't mean we support the genocide Isreal is commiting," which is really fucking sad. And at the time same, my grandparents are actually supportive of me, a queer trans aro/ace sapphic, since their mindset is "Queer people are still the children of god." (Which is a VERY progressive thing even today) And yet they're fucking so clearly pro-MAGA.
My point being is to explain what I know about my own family history and bring it up to historical context of the time Vox actually lived in, along with comparing it to today. My grandparents having some bizzare exceptions to their bigotry, but at the same time, they are way way more racist than Vox and they would've been like 2 or 3 years old in 1952. Like I don't understand it, my family doesn't understand it, it makes no sense, we're still in shock 10 fucking years later they were pulled into the maga cult.
But I can bring up some more family history, because not every one of my great grandparents and beyond were as awful as that. (Thank fucking god) But how progressive they were really depended.
My materal grandmother's father fought in WWII, and before he fought in the war, he was also a super bigoted racist towards basically everyone that wasn't a white person of the "correct" european desent. That side of my family has been here since the 1600s, for context. Our very very distant ancestors were Dutch and some helped found Smithtown on Long Island, that's how far back we're talking about. These white people saw themselves as the elites above other whites at the time. However, he did kinda come around, once he visited Africa during the war, apparently he had a strange sense he'd been there before, he took it as a sign from god, and that actually helped deprogram him out of a lot of the racist shit he was taught, and he actually began moving towards the aid of BIPOC communities once he returned to the states. My grandmother said he always wanted to adopt a black child in need because of what he saw while trying to help the BIPOC communites in the 50s and 60s, but he was never allowed to for one reason or another. Even when it was legal, he felt like they'd be safer with black adoptive parents because he knew the shit both he, his family, and the adoptive child would face if a white man adopted a black child. My grandmother said he took that guilt to his grave. However, he was still super racist and zionistic to the germans, and the italians because of WWII, he took that until his grave.
And I need to mention this, isn't it fucking nuts how my grandmother is so racist yet she talks about her father and admires him for this? Like again, I don't get how this works with people, but my point is if you compare my materal materal great grandfather and my materal pateral great grandmother, two people of the same generation who both grew up in the same borough of Brooklyn New York, the difference between individuals can be drastic.
And by the way, if Vox died in his 50s, he wouldn't even have been a part of my great grandparents generation. He would've been the same generation as Alastor, the boomers grandparents. And that generation was even worse with the racist shit they did!
Let me be very very clear, I'm not saying Vox ISN'T a racist, because he definitely is, he knew exactly what be was doing when he made that super racist comment towards Valentino, no doubt about that. What I am saying that for someone who would've been born in 1893 at the EARILEST for him to have been in his 50s when he died in 1952, he's bizzarely actually pretty damn progressive ESPECIALLY for the time. Like my boomer grandparents are more racist then Vox and boomers would be the grandkids of Vox's generation.
But Vox, living in the time he did and especially the spaces he did, absolutely would've picked up on some of the racist shit going around, even if he wasn't aware of it at the time, and even if part of bim questioned it but tossed it aside. He's still a man of his time, and likely was complicit in the racist shit even if he did have any doubts or questioned it.
Another important thing to remember is that even back in Alastor and Vox's youth, there were white people who knew this shit was fucked up and hated seeing poc treated like shit, and they didn't need to have some sort of wakening when visiting Africa like my great grandpa did. Same with men, not all of them were 100% for the misogynic bullshit that they saw their wives and daughters had to deal with. Tanner clubs were very common especially during the Prohibition age, because it was a safe place for the marginalized and their allies to group together and just have fun and get a break from life. Not everyone who was born into privilege at times where the marginalized are heavily suppressed are 100% for the oppression of other people. (Case in point, what's happening right now in the United States)
I have another example within my own family history of this, too. My great grandparents fled Nazi Germany and immigrated to the states because my they did not agree with the regime and how they would've been forced to be a human incubator and to go commit genocide. Yes, they were considered "Aryan," by the nazis. They did not agree with it and so what's why they fled. When they got to the states, they were under HEAVY surveillance by both New York state and the federal government, for fear they were spies.
Not to mention they came at a time where a German U-Boat surfaced off the coast of Long Island at Montauk Point, and german soliders ACTUALLY put their boots on the island to scout out the area, they were only caught because some young guy was just chilling at the lighthouse for some reason and despite being threatened by the nazis, he told the government anyway. And despite that being such a huge success for the country, nerves were up after that, too.
So my great grandparents arrived at probably the worst time they could've. If they stepped one toe out of line, they would've been deported back to Germany where they'd be immediately killed.
Because of this, they immediately conformed to typical white american culture, HOWEVER, they were always huge allies of BIPOC and other european americans who were been treated like total shit at the time. And so, my grandfather, who was born in the mid 1940s, actually was really really progressive on race and religion compared the vast majority of his generation, but he was still a man of his time, racist shit will still subconsciously rub off on you. One of the biggest and most clear ones I remember was he called certain racial and ethic groups by common labels used back when he was young, but later were considered outdated, offensive, even slurs by the time I was born in the early 2000s. He also had some view that today would be considered racist, but when he was growing up, they were still progressive.
I think Vox better fits into the sort of camp of how my paternal grandfather was compared to what the typical stereotype of a 1950s racist would be. Like my maga grandparents were born in 1949 and didn't become adults until the 1960s. And they are WAYY way more racist then my dad's dad ever was, and my grandparents parents were WAY WORSE then them, too, even if my great grandfather kinda turned around.
Because I'll definitely tell you something, my maga grandparents would definitely much rather work with a white person over any person of color if they had the option to pick. My grandparents are openly racist when they feel safe to, and are tolerant when they have to be. It's really fucking weird because like, my aunt married a middle eastern Jewish man, and they are totally fine sith that, their grandkid is also a queer trans person, and they're all fine with that?? I don't understand how the fuck this shit works but like, they're actually more favorable on queer people then POC and like I just don't get it-
But with people they don't know, yeah, that tolerance is by a hair. Again, if they could, they'd much rather work with white people over POC.
It's clear for Vox that was never a deciding factor when it came to his friends in Hell and his business partners, again, that's not to say he ISN'T racist at all, he is. But I think most of it is pure ignorance rather then geninue malice.
A lot of white people just don't question the shit they're taught unfortunately and they have deprogram themselves, and that includes white allies. I've had to have a lot of moments throughout my whole life where I was like "Holy shit, I never really considered that-" and no matter how much of an ally a white person is, the cold hard truth is no matter how hard we try, we are always going to have some sort of ignorance kr internalized racism, because we cannot ever understand what it's like to be in their shoes. So it's incredibly important to make an effort and deprogram yourself while also getting the sense knocked into you.
Now I definitely don't think Vox is a POC ally in a sense, I think he's more so someone who was progressive for his time, but still hangs onto a lot of internalized racism bullshit, and doesn't really make too much of an attempt to hold himself accountable, and is not above making a racist comment IF it means he gets the last word. I think it's more likely for Vox when he was alive to be tolerant, possibly even sympathetic, and more so complicit instead of actively straight up your racist grandpa.
Considering what I know about my own family history, and the 3 out of 4 blood related grandparents I've been very close to, with 1 of the 3 being dead for almost a decade, yeah, Vox definitely does not fit the image we have today of a 1950s white man, let alone what it was actually like back then.
Something my mother says is "It always gets better with each generation," and while she is referring to the generational trauma in my family, it can also often hold true for progress on the rights and societal views of marginalized groups, and Vox would've been VERY progressive compared to the generation before him. Considering all the signs that he had a extremely fucked up childhood, I'd bet his parents would've been typical racist fuckwads in that time period.
I'm more than welcome for any feedback from poc on what I said here, especially if I could phrase things better.
Damn man. Yeah. Yeah, these are good points. And I hate to say it, but Yeah.
BBD.
Vox believes his image should be perfection. He’s a narcissist too, those tend to overlap with those who suffer with Body dysmorphia.
He suffers with it from human life and now is ashamed he still has it.

btw, in the Vees' first on-screen meeting, Vox is drinking whiskey (or brandy or smtn like that), Valentino a manhattan and Velvette a blue martini.
do with this information as you'd like.
It’s sooo Cute. This is how I picture their relationship. Melissa is the enthusiast one and wants Velvette to finally give her heart to her and then when she knows Velvette is having a bad day or something, she doesn’t push it. She lets her feel whatever and just wants to support her no matter what💕
