so i just saw the trailer for deliver me from nowhere and i have soooo many things to say because it's literally walk hard: the dewey cox story and i can't stop laughing
like "when bruce was little he had a hole in his floor and he is going to repair that floor and then repair the whole world" like what the fuck are you saying jeremy strong ajkejaeskes bruce's music is not music to repair the whole world, it's about repairing yourself, it's about the little things in life, it's about the working class but specially about yourself and everyone in your life! it isn't mean to be something greater and conquer the world!!!!
but honestly what i'm more mad about is the removal of nebraska's political message, granted we haven't seen the movie so i'll wait, but there is zero political message in the trailer and removing the sociopolitical context of THIS album is just unforgivable, it is literally his most political album in a context where reagan was fucking with the working class, bruce literally said in a concert that he didn't think reagan had listened to nebraska, removing that context is just so stupid and i hate it.
the rest of the movie well: i still don't like jeremy allen white as bruce but i'll get over it at least he doesn't sound so bad, jeremy strong academy award winner even tho i do zzzz with the fucking manager being main character like okay i guess, but i will say i did like the parts with his dad and mom and i spotted clarence twice so there is that my glup shitto

High Hopes tour footage!! Shown in the new "Road Diary" documentary.
i actually think it's important that statler/waldorf, literal puppets, beat bruce/clarence in the Old Man Yaoi poll. actually it's good to remind myself that people are AFRAID of LOVE. i should know that beauty and truth are not always APPRECIATED and that people prefer FUNNY PUPPETS to human connection that endures beyond death, and that's FINE, actually. love has never been a popular movement dot james baldwin dot meme!!!
i need people in the tags of this post to understand that they were literally in love
those fucking muppets could fucking never

Old Man Yaoi Semifinals
Clarence Clemons/Bruce Springsteen (real life) Vs. Statler/Waldorf (The Muppets)
Clarence Clemons/Bruce Springsteen
Statler/Waldorf
Some people seem to think the the second piece of writing was from a fanfiction. Nope! It's from Clarence's own autobiography:
"They don't qualify for the bracket because the gifs are from when they were young." Be fr now.
In 2020, nine years after Clarence's passing, a Rolling Stones journalist asked Bruce about his thoughts on his relationship to Clarence:
And it's true! People have literally written academic papers on them!!
What she says: I’m fine. What she’s thinking: In Yesterday (2019), the Beatles never became famous and go completely unremembered, with the exception of the protagonist and a handful of other individuals. Panic! At The Disco’s album Pretty. Odd. (2008) was strongly influenced by the work of the Beatles, and the music video for “Nine in the Afternoon” also features marked Beatles influences. In the aftermath of the album’s release, band split due to musical differences, which led to the formation of The Young Veins and Dallon Weekes joining Panic! At The Disco (and Weekes eventually leaving the band to start IDKHow). If the Beatles don’t exist in the Yesterdayverse, all of this is fundamentally altered. Is the original lineup of Panic! At The Disco still in place? Does IDKHow exist? Was Pretty. Odd. ever recorded? What does the “Nine in the Afternoon” video look like if all the Beatles references are gone? I need answers.
Other things affected by the absence of The Beatles.
The Monkees. The TV series took some of its cues from the Beatles film A Hard Day’s Night (1964). Because The Monkees don’t exist, a lot of music history gets altered even further. If “I’m A Believer” exists, it’s probably recorded by Neil Diamond rather than The Monkees, since Neil Diamond wrote the song. The musical careers of each Monkee is also deeply changed due to the circumstances of the band’s formation.
The Bee Gees are never in the movie Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978) because the movie doesn’t exist.
Wings is probably never formed. Actually, it’s possible none of the Beatles’ solo careers ever happen, and because of that…
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack doesn’t include the song “My Sweet Lord”, assuming that George Harrison’s solo career never takes place because the Bealtes don’t exist.
The plot of Tom Hanks’s directorial debut That Thing You Do! (1996) is also altered since the film contains many Beatles references, including the fight between Jimmy and Faye towards the ending of the film.
Speaking of post-Beatles careers, The Traveling Wilburys is probably never formed, due to George Harrison’s role in founding the band.
Eric Clapton’s discography is altered. At the very least, I’d imagine “Layla” and “Wonderful Tonight” wouldn’t exist, because they’re about Patti Boyd, Clapton’s ex-wife who he met through George Harrison (who was married to Boyd when they met, but I digress).
Switchfoot? Their sound is influenced by the Beatles, and this especially shows on the album Where the Light Shines Through. Their music might still exist, but it’s drastically different.
Actually, American music as a whole is drastically different because the British Invasion reshaped everything about American music across every genre. Would we ever have escaped the teen tragedy genre? Would Bob Dylan have gone electric? Who knows!
If Bob Dylan never went electric, then British folk rock either looks drastically different, or never existed, and as a British folk rock fan, this is deeply upsetting to consider.
If the Monkees don’t exist, then Pavel Chekov is never added to the cast of Star Trek. Walter Koenig’s career is altered significantly.
If “I’m A Believer” doesn’t exist (which, I mean, it still might, but it also might not), then what takes its place on the Shrek soundtrack?
The vultures at the end of The Jungle Book (1967) are a reference to the Beatles via haircuts and Liverpudlian accents. What does The Jungle Book look like?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGHHHHHHHHHHHH
