ok back to Environmental Pull Drive (aka u dont have "adhd" you have "an environmentally coupled, high-momentum processing system") and if that is true, then these are true:
1.
Don't think with your brain, think with your space
don't fight the pull, just arrange the things that pull you
treat rooms like different brains
unfinished projects are just game saves, putting it away deletes it
2.
Fun now is a need, not a want
the motor ONLY starts with emotional or sensory pulls (u wouldnt put milk in a gas tank)
abstract and vague tasks or obligations need to be translated into something (or somewhere or someone) immediate, sensory or playful (or they aint getting done)
3.
Stopping needs rest, not starting
you are a high speed train. shifting, stopping, slowing down takes a ton of energy. thats why a day of nothing is exhausting, you're riding the brakes
dont just schedule relaxation, schedule time to cut your brakelines
4.
Plan around momentum, not to-dos
to stay fast you'll always take the path of least resistance, so make inportant things wildly easy and the other stuff a little harder (buy the cute tool, put the yaoi in the closet)
piles are from speed, its just a way-point u haven't formalized yet
5.
Fuck the word "focus"
a distraction is NOT A FAILURE, it's just neutral info about what's important to you right now
you don't need to force anything, just move towards what pulls you and trust it will all connect. you're gonna do what you're gonna do the way youre gonna do it. when it stops being important, you'll stop too
*louder for the people in the back (me next week)* UNFINISHED PROJECTS ARE JUST GAMES SAVES, PUTTING IT AWAY DELETES IT

Spent a ridiculous amount of time last night obsessively editing my hand written zines in Photoshop to take away any tiny blemishes so they were definitely readable.
Whatever. Understand or don't.

Square Bloom
quilt by Jo Wollschlaeger
2nd place in American Patchwork & Quilting Transparency Quilting Challenge, QuiltCon 2025
this challenge focused on the illusion of transparency in quilting.
So I noticed this was second place in a contest.
So I looked up first place:
This is "Light Me Up" by Lindsey Berres. Closeups here.
Here is the (partial?) gallery of entrants on the QuiltCon website, but the image files are so large that I literally can't load them so have a selection of much lower quality screengrabs from this video tour instead...
"Neural Overlap" by Jane Eileen GarcΓa (3rd place)
"Surfacing" by Tara Glastonbury
"Dot Your Eyes" by Nora Bauser
"Risograph Rings" by Colleen Kesterson
"Benched" by Linda Hungerford
"Windmill Meadows" by Lynett Muhaso
"Starman" by Lorena Uriarte
"Triple Silk Transluscence" by Cassandra Beaver
"Who Invited Cyan?" by Samantha Saturday
"Star Crossed" by Karin Rabe
"Contintuity of Radiance" by Svetlana Silver
"Mod Layers" by Anthea Naylor
"Dialectic No. 4" by Heather Akerberg
"Perfect Pansies" by Holly Clarke
"Still Life #1" by Barbara Strick
"Circle of Friends" by Erin Case
"Orange Peel Overlay" by Stephanie Bracelyn""Orange Peel Overlay" by Stephanie Bracelyn

oh Master Of All Who Take And Wash And Eatβββ lift me away at the end into evening forever into sanctified crumples of paper and peelings curled over my hand i have scavenged as i must among the hairless now welcome this bandit into the kingdom just as you made him barefoot and faithful and clean

there is no greater joy on this earth than Making Lists, Categorizing, & Sorting
oh do I have the game for you
I could . not. put. this down for 48 hours - stayed up too late, had weird dreams about it, woke up early, and played it while I was supposed to be doing other things. the last several dozen items took a lot of googling, which I do not even begrudge it.
and then. My partner started it. And the SAME THING happened to him.
surprisingly compelling. start when you have free time. like, yanno, a snow day.
oh my god, if you are the kind of person who gets sucked into logic puzzles, do not click that link if you have to do anything/go to sleep in the next couple hours
I clicked the link and experienced something akin to euphoria

Humans really will see a plant with "mammals dni" written on its genetic code and go "ooh nice. Yoink."
