Please Don't Squeeze The Shaman

Shammy's finally home! I felt kind of sorry for him that things might be boring because he'd be the only kid at this reunion but turns out his aunt took him in a cool Uber to the Calgary Stampede, went on all the crazy rides with him, went up to the top of the Calgary tower and then to a first class sushi restaurant where everything was flown in from Japan. I'm not feeling so sorry for him anymore.

Shammy's coming home today!

This mosquito has been following me around the house biting me for hours and I hope it enjoys the traces of chemo drugs still kicking around in there.

I can't wait to see and squeeze Shammy tomorrow after his big trip, but it's hard after spending quality time with someone cool and feeling like I'm getting myself back and tasting some freedom from a year of horrors and current responsibilities that it's hard to crawl back into my little box and be happy just working and parenting my ass off by myself. I know people find ways to do both but at the moment feels kind of impossible and like I have to turn back into a lonely pumpkin.
