Because yes that is true. But when you frame it like that you are completely disregarding the absolutely batshit reality that Blue Whales are the largest animals that have ever existed on earth through the entire history of the planet and they are alive right now today
"Women's spaces" is one of those things that sounds kinda ok when it is completely divorced from reality but the reality of gender segregation even on a small scale means there is no way to actually implement it that isn't incredibly bigoted and bullshit. What people are actually trying to do is make a space where they don't have to confront anything or anyone that is upsetting to them. But what people are uncomfortable with is based on emotional reactions.
Case in point, I've never been to a woman's only space that wasn't obviously hostile to me, and that's when I was even allowed there in the first place. And I understand why - my voice is very low and I make no attempt at voice training, I dress in a gender neutral way, hormones have done very little for me. Unless I am making a special effort to be feminine I clock as a guy. I am also tall and broad. The only way I can gain any kind of acceptance in "woman's spaces" is if I go to extreme effort to completely warp my presentation and step on egg shells the entire time. If im not actively ashamed and apologetic about the fact I read as a man I am not welcome.
Because, again, the reality of woman's spaces is that they are about the comfort of those who organize them.
I'm also very aware that it's not just non passing trans women who get the short end of the stick here. There is a long history of racism connected to these kinds of spaces that absolutely has not been resolved, for example.
The other half of the woman's spaces discourse is about resources, and is just so detached from reality it is kind of pathetic. The idea that a trans man coming into a woman's only space is somehow stealing resources from women is pervasive as it is stupid. The reality is that very few resources of any kind are expended in cases like this, and far more important is the single most important resource in marginalized politics, solidarity and coalition strength. Any "loss" of resources that occurs when lines are blurred is more than made up for by the social and political power that depends on different marginalized people regularly interacting with each other.
I think we can make the call here people, segregation is not woke. (Yes this is sarcastic in a "I can't believe I have to say this" way)
i know folks are gonna call me a pedo for this one, but i grew up seeing my mom and grandma naked. they had health issues and at times needed care and help showering. and i truly think more kids need to be shown the nonsexual reality of naked women at a young age. there is nothing sexual about my grandmothers breasts, they were simply body parts. more women die of heart attacks because people are too afraid of breasts to do real chest compressions, because they are scared to touch their breasts. the sexualization of our bodies literally kills us. i need people to be more normal about naked bodies and i'm 100% serious.

Except, they won't be. Even if they get actual Native American actors to play these characters, even if they bring on a Native American to serve as a cultural advisor, it wont matter. Why? Because Smeyer appropriated a real Native American tribe and twisted their culture and history in her fantasy books for her own profit.
This fictional Quileute Tribe is and always will be disrespectful to the real life Quileute tribe.

like listen i think jensen has interesting takes on dean on occasion, for sure. but the thing is that while jensen plays dean but jensen isnāt dean. heās a fraction of dean. a vessel for dean at best. deanās dialogue and reactions are written by a team of people. he is edited by a team of people. he is lit and framed by a team of people. the people change. they remember and incorporate totally different elements and aspects of his character over 15 years.
he is cosmic as a character. no one person is in control of him and yet he emerges as complex and interesting because heās the product of so many minds and so many aspects of creative input. there are a lot of people behind the scenes and theyāre all projecting onto dean and reading dean in different ways. so like. jensen can have his opinions on dean and people can agree or disagree but either way heās not the end all voice of dean winchester. thatās not how creative collaboration works.
what jensen says about dean as an actor from the outside doesnāt change the overarching truth of who dean winchester became as a character because 75% of it is out of his control. like jensen could genuinely play dean straight as an arrow and mean it but if heās written queer and edited queer and lit by bi lighting and his most meaningful relationships are all with men then heās textually and canonically queer/queer coded!
