It’s just… funny how things change. A day I used to ignore feels different now. Not because of the date, but because there’s someone who would look at it and say it matters.

You’d probably drag me into something ridiculous. Cake I didn’t ask for. Some homemade thing that’s either amazing or a complete disaster. You’d stand there watching my reaction like it’s the most important moment of your life.

Truth is, I don’t need anything big. Never did.

If I get to spend even a little time with you today, hearing you ramble, watching you get that look when you’re proud of something dumb you made, yeah. That’s enough. More than enough.

Just stay close. That’s the only thing I’d count as a birthday gift.
