literally everything about ianto's death scene is fucked up and evil and heartbreaking you get to pick your poison which line/moment kills you the most. but I do think "it was good, yeah?" is an underrated knife to the heart. just. the sheer simplicity of it. it was good. it was never going to last but it was good. something something things mattering even when they're doomed to end tragically. WHATEVER MAN.

i know its ironic to say this coming from a ianto blog since i am obviously a big ianto fan but i do wish people would stop centering ianto and janto so much. i mean yeah i also have a fave character again i run a ianto blog but like in the story hes not actually all that important hes replaceable to torchwood the organisation like all its employees are and while hes obviously like friends with the other team members and lovers with jack hes just a person like any other person you know? there's this tendency to make ianto be jack's most important lover ever and jack has never loved that much before and will never love that much again but thats just not true. it just so happens ianto is there in the timespan of the show but jack has had other important people in his life before. and like he says himself that he doesn't want to forget any of them its not just ianto. if anyone is more important than the others its the doctor because jack literally says the doctor made him a good person and hes constantly chasing the doctor and trying to live up to them. ianto is not the center of the world hes just a man. big finish does amplify the problem by still mostly centering ianto in stories set after his death but i would hope that in 2026 people would realise you can love more than one person especially when the previous lovers are literally dead
