high school teachers will legit be like “I want to make this class as much like a college class as possible, I won’t babysit you and your grade is 100% quizzes and tests” one second and then the next have everyone lock their phones in a closet

Sometimes I convince myself that my parents weren’t actually low key abusive and that I’m just overreacting and then they’ll say something along the lines of “Oh you’ll scream at and insult at your kids too, just you wait and see” or “but if we hadn’t yelled and screamed at you, you wouldn’t have learned so fast” and all doubt just leaves my mind

I got a slur yelled at me for the first time today and, aside from the fact that it was completely unexpected and I didn’t care, it was honestly kind of funny because they clearly thought that I was the opposite of my gender assigned at birth so like... thank you?

the worst part of being known as “the smart one” at school is the inevitable bit where you have to go to school on december 19 and tell everyone that you got rejected REA from Stanford after months of hearing “you can get in wherever you want” “no way any college would reject you” “i’ve got really good feelings about Stanford for you” someone kill me please

not sure if this is a universal experience or not but remember when you were a kid and would stand up for yourself because something was legitimately unfair? and then adults would punish you for “having an attitude”? yeah what the fuck was that
