so i haven't seen much about this on here but in the past week there have been massive protests in albania due to jared kushner and ivanka trump planning to build a luxury resort on an island in the mediterranean sea which is actually a protected habitat for migratory birds and more endemic species living in that area

they claimed to have "discovered" it while yachting like the filthy colonizers they are, and the albanian govt is happily letting them go along with this because they obvi stand to make shitloads of money with this project.

you can read more about the details of the whole situation in the link above which i think gives a decent overview but the gist of it is: tourism, capitalism, and corruption are threatening a very delicate ecosystem in the balkans which we as a species cannot afford

unfortunately there is not much to do from afar as this is all dirty work that has to be protested with boots on the ground but for now please reblog this & take 2 seconds out of your day to sign this petition that calls for stopping the construction and destruction of the region which has already started:
